Great Hotel in walking distance to many activities

Pros: Location and price
Cons: Room service
Location: Very close to what we needed in downtown area.
Fun little hotel with nice rooms, we had one with a balcony and it was nice to look over the night life of downtown and relax on it.

I Would Not Stay Here Again

When I made the reservation, I was misled into believing that I was getting a room with a view of the city. I prepaid immediately when I made the reservation. That room should have been held for me. Lady at front desk told me that my room had been given away on a "first-come-first-serve basis". I had a view of a street alley. No view at all. I would understand this if I had not paid in advance. If I pay immediately, I will arrive when I want to arrive and the room should be held for me. This hotel does not have queen size beds. All they have is double beds that are very uncomfortable. You can tell that these are not mattresses of even acceptable quality. The pillows are hard and poor quality. I did not sleep comfortably. Front desk was not apologetic about any of this. Manager was contacted over the phone. His response was "leave if you do not like it". That is a mediocre way of handling a customer. On Yelp, I posted a picture of the rusty shower handles in my room along with my 1 star review.

Dear Frank, We apologize that your expectations were not met. The room you booked, however, was our Single Double size Bed Handicap Accessible room. Being that we had no other rooms available, as we were sold out the second night of your stay, we were unable to meet your request for a city view. If I had the availability, there would have been no hesitation to find you a better room. We only use the highest quality of Simmons and Serta mattresses and pillows on our property. We do have our bed sizes posted online accurately, so there is no confusion to our sleeping accommodations. I apologize for the misunderstanding of my response. However, my intention was to refund you for your stay, so that you may have found better accommodations due to our availability. Thank you for bringing attention to the item in the room you described, we appreciate your feedback. I hope you consider staying with us again, so that we may provide a more superior experience. I wished that you had called us directly before booking your reservations. That way we could have found the best option for you. Best Regards, Shawn Jones General Manager

Getaway

My getaway ended up fantastic due to the hotel accommodations I felt so relaxed and was able to get some good rest .

Great location, quality hotel.

Walking distance to the Pike, restaurants, downtown and Catalina express terminal. Parking structure within hotel is a plus. bike station across hotel entrance is another plus.

They call it Best Western for a reason

My stay at Best Western was excellent. Close to the Convention center and great places to visit. To finish my day off just down the street at 421 1st St. is the house of Hayden. Fantastic little bar. Lots of fun.

Pros: Rooms are modern; free toiletries; iron and ironing board in room; free full breakfast and internet
Cons: Towels changed daily which was unnecessary; wireless internet only reliable near my door.
My second stay at this hotel and I'll stay here in future.

Very nice hotel.

Pros: How helpful the manager and staff was to me.
Location: Everything was within walking distance.
The manager and staff were amazing. I stayed one night at the Renaissance and it was not as nice as Best Western Plus. I had a friend that stayed across the street at another hotel and when we compared notes, she was jealous.. I would highly recommend Best Western Plus to my friends.

Over price for the room size

Our stay was OK the room was super small for the price. Would've liked something bigger for what they charged
