Looking for Portland roasters in Beverly Hills? Found it! The shop itself is tiny, but offers awesome seating in this long, peaceful and green alleyway.
Stumptown Roasters and a kickass neon sign? 10/10. This amazing dessert was served in a fishbowl, just like the other five courses. Inside was a crème Chiboust with sour red current jelly, almond praline, rice crackers and orange blossom bubbles. Topping it off was a disc of shaved ice infused with redwood stems. Pretty imaginative and incredible tasty. Lights in the LACMA plaza The La Brea Tar Pits (or Rancho La Brea Tar Pits) are a cluster of tar pits around which Hancock Park was formed, in urban Los Angeles. Asphaltum or tar (brea in Spanish) has seeped up from the ground in this area for tens of thousands of years. The tar is often covered with dust, leaves, or water. Over many centuries, animals that were trapped in the tar were preserved as bones. The six-course menu began with this award-winning trout row salad served in a fishbowl for two. A disc of snap-pea infused ice covered the bowl, but was easily cracked and sent down to mix with lemon custard, frozen yogurt powder, dried lemon thyme meringue, onion bulbs, and pea vines. A truly unique and fantastic dish where every bite was a bit different and always tasty. LACMA features a World Cup exhibition right now, and this was my favorite piece. By Nelson Leirner, this 7ft diameter stadium features an array of pop-icon and religious figurines battling it out for soul of humanity. Random International’s Rain Room (2012) is an immersive environment of perpetually falling water that pauses wherever a human body is detected. The installation offers visitors an opportunity to experience what is seemingly impossible: the ability to control rain. Rain Room presents a respite from everyday life and an opportunity for sensory reflection within a responsive relationship. Don't climb this #tree An outdoor shopping experience you don't want to miss. With all the best stores and more that you would like to shop at, a trip to The Grove is a must if you're in LA. There is a trolley that goes through the shopping area from one end to the other that you can hop on if you're too exhausted from all the shopping. Also, there's a neat farmers market located right next to The Grove In Hancock park located in downtown LA are the La Brea tar pits. You can enter the park for free to see the tar pits themselves, as well as visit the museum for a nominal fee. One interesting fact was that the prior owner of this land brought the pictured mammoth here through downtown LA back in the 40's by towing it by VW beetle. What a sight that would have been! Tom Colicchio owned restaurant, and one of my all-time favorites. The entrees are always perfectly cooked (the Jidori Chicken is the best chicken I've ever had) and the sides are simply incredible. Our picks this week: Liberty Farms Duck, Gnocchi, Green Garlic Risotto, and Lemon Cake Doughnuts. Expect to spend $125/pp. $8 valet parking. Also known as the Witch's House, I lived in Beverly Hills for a year before I came across this gem. It's a private residence but worth a drive by if you're in the area Eataly just opened up at the Century City Mall in Los Angeles! Packed with gourmet food stalls, ranging from breakfast to dessert. Purchase a glass of wine to drink while walk around the entire store! Lines are long at lunch but worth the wait! #pizza With unique hot dogs inspired by many of the films from Hollywood, Pink's is a great spot for a hot dog. Be prepared to wait in a long line if you go around lunch time, but it is well worth the wait. Celebrities also find Pink's to be a spot they enjoy, as you can see autographed photos from all the Hollywood stars! Encountered a old school Winchell's Donut House in West Hollywood #RoadTrip Lawry Cut at Lawry's Prime Rib- Beverly Hills I have been wanting to take pictures of this installation since it was created in 2008.
Chocolate Soufflé and Mint Chip Ice Cream (which really tasted more like basil). Very tasty, but the winning dessert was the Lemon Cake Doughnuts (they were gone before I could snag a photo)! Funky little French cafe perfect for la conversation over tuna nicose or a baguette with smoked salmon and caviar. Inside is a jewel box but we sat out on the street and watched the Bentleys drive by. A duck confit away from France. Not too bad. Signs. Half way between hollywood and beverley hills there is a kind of light park. Perfect for a romantic escape. It is located right next to the museum of art. #roadtrip If you're familiar with the rock band Guns N' Roses, then you should be familiar with Canter's deli. This was the official hangout place for the rock group back in the early 80's and your reminded of it as soon as you walk in the front door with a lot of GN'R memorabilia. As for food, I had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich and paid an hefty price of $13.50 for a sandwich with coleslaw (fries not included). All in all, the food was great and the family took in the pleasant atmosphere and left happy.
Two thumbs up: 👍👍 The pool and entrance to the world famous grotto at the Playboy Mansion. Blackened Redeye Breakfast burger, truffle parmesan fries and unlimited mimosas! Great little Gastro Pub in LA. Try the PBBJ! Peanut Butter, Bacon, Pepper Jam! Amazing Such an amazing piece of pre-historic land in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of LA. I can't believe people would rather see the walk of fame than this museum!! Love some good lunchin' spots! Check out this house-turned cafe in the middle of Beverly Hills! These cool guys are part of Hef's private zoo. The cage is about 40 feet wide and 30 feet high with trees and there were approx 20 of them. This is photographed a lot but I like it. My type of sugar overload! :) Rodeo Drive con los negocios más Tops de LA Mine! Yum! Red velvet! In a fairly nondescript area, on the roof of a dingy hotel, we were blown away by these Dark and Stormies made with homemade ginger beer! If you didn't know it was here, you'd never know this was a bar. Low key, subtly hipster hole in the wall, The Mandrake is a chill spot for a drink.
There's a movie screen in the back and they have some appetizers too. I dig it.
This is the Habanera. Not for the faint of heart or this with sensitive pallets. Inside the grotto at the Playboy Mansion. Imagine if these rock walls could talk. Funky colorful futuristic arrangements of buildings that make up the Pacific Design Center. Like something out of a sci fi movie. Lucy's. for that 3AM greasy taco craving. Iconic Warhol on display at LACMA. Vanilla frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles! Or should I say rainbow sprinkles with frozen yogurt? We love visiting #LACMA when we are in #LosAngeles. Great itinerant and permanent exhibits will keep you going around, and during weekends there is a fun array of activities for #families and #kids. You wouldn't know this is a Prada store from the outside, but the regular shoppers at this store obviously know which store it is and what pieces are offered. The dressing rooms also have This is the HQ's for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the folks behind the Golden Globe Awards, located on the world famous Robertson Blvd. Not much to it, eh. The best #Tukish coffee and traditional breakfast I've had. Stellar venue for weddings, parties, and FREE concerts! @ Toyota Summer Series Free Concert, St. Lucia
Smog Shoppe features a super cool indoor/outdoor venue for any event. Brown butter candied bacon gelato! One of LA's most popular hamburgers Father's office burger TRUFFLED TATER TOTS! My new favorite thing in the world. Very generous portion too! Savory tomato macaron with a burrata cheese filing. Another look at the Urban Lights - this time at night. Infamous pancake lasagna - With bacon, sausage, cheddar, and a maple bechamel Strawberry buttermilk Walking the backlot of of 20th Century Fox and came across this old ambulance, memba when they looked like this? Modern Family-Cameron and Mitchell's house LACMA - Urban Lights This is one place I couldn't explore. Driving around in LA Hef's front door MAC AND CHEESE POT. Moody but lively la scene. Great terrace out back. Endless stream of outstanding small plates. Wonderful Shopping at the Grove next to LAs Farmer's Market Small cool museum in the LaBrea Tar Pits. Great 3D movies here. Melrose Place. 💜 The Culver Hotel's lobby bar is a great atmosphere to grab a drink and snacks with friends and listen to live music. #LoveMyTown Good retro style go-to diner on Sunset for an egg scramble, juices, and long menu of standard diner fare at any hour. Friendly wait staff. Calm before the storm Coffee break #lifeatexpedia Best avocado toast on the planet #lifeatexpedia Gorgeous Structure as I was taking my first tour in L.A.!!!!! I :-E LA. #losangeles #sweetspot Beverly Hills is a city in California's Los Angeles County. Home to many Hollywood stars, it features the upscale shopping street of Rodeo Drive. The expansive Beverly Gardens Park has fountains and rose gardens, plus an illuminated Beverly Hills sign. The 1920s Greystone Mansion is the backdrop for many films. Known as a celebrity haunt, The Beverly Hills Hotel is set in tropical gardens and has a poolside cafe. Although I did not purchase anything here, I felt that the store itself was Troveworthy. A monument to decades of fashion, and an iconic store on Rodeo Dr. Standing out front of the Playboy mansion. Got a private tour, saw Hef. Pumpernickel Bread & salmon Man made fountain. Near perfect diner. Curved counter and fixed stools make you naturally social with your dining neighbors and your servers. Pancakes, eggs Benedict, corned beef hash. All excellent. Quite a little Hollywood scene as well. A regular spot for actors and playahs. Letter from Saul Bass to Stanley Kubrick related to The Shining. Xanadu Man legs with a full view of one Hollywood's most famous poolside.
TIP: Just get a cocktail, take in the views, and take a quick dip. LA's hidden gem. Overlooks all of LA #DayInLA #RodeoDrive #AfternoonTea #BeverlyHills We took a last-minute bus tour to roam around LA. running against time, we thought of spending more time here, in the famous Rodeo Drive. While we appreciate the collection and the flamboyance of the shops, we loved this architecture at a corner of the Rodeo Drive. USA 2011 🇺🇸 Hello Elote! (Mexican Corn on the Cob) Los Angeles is an upbeat, star struck city with cool sights to see and a generally casual atmosphere. Keep in mind that you have to drive everywhere in Los Angeles area and traffic can be as notorious as they say. No worries, though, because there is lots to see and driving with the windows down and a sunroof open beats public transportation any day!
