Funky old motelPosted Nov 25, 2015
Is funky old motel it's old and tired… But it does have a certain charm. For example, the second floor has a courtyard with the Naples outside of each room. Parking is good and free. Breakfast is free and not good. They seem to be trying hard, but they don't have much to work with. The location is jmediocre. Safe but near nothing. If you get a steal of a deal on a room, maybe it is worth a try.

Zentrales Hotel in Santa MonicaPosted Nov 10, 2015

Pros: Offered a place to sleep and shower. It was 2 miles to the beach.
Cons: Everything needs to be improved.
Location: The beach is 2 miles away, fast food is everywhere and there is a CVS within walking distance.
The hotel experience was very bad. Thankfully, it was one night. The hotel appeared in decent condition from the outside. However, the inside was like being in a low-class hotel from the 80's. There was old carpeting, furniture and doors! The door seemed like it could not shut. The cleanliness was questionable at best. There were doors everywhere and it made it seem enclosed and shady. The elevator hardly worked and needed a punch or two in order to get to the right floor. The breakfast was a decent variety, although, very unappetizing. I believe the price is average for the area and so I would expect an average hotel stay, but this was anything but average.

The bed was clean.Posted Sep 20, 2015
Pros: Free parking
Cons: Everything needs an upgrade and a good cleaning.
Location: There was a nice little Japanese restaurant called Kaido across the street. That was the highlight. 20 blocks to the Promedade.
This hotel is in desperate need of a redo. The hall carpeting was heavily soiled, as was the elevator. The room was very small. No counter or vanity in the bathroom-just a small sink with a huge crack in it. There was no where to put toiletries-we used the bed. No bathtub, which was fine. The room was meant for 1 person only. Everything was very dated. The only place I felt comfortable sitting was on the bed. We paid over $200/night for this room. Should have been half that amount. The parking was free, which helped offset the room rate.

This is a 3 floor hotel with secure entrance.Posted Sep 18, 2015
Pros: I think a good bed and shower were the most important . City convenience was great after better understanding the buses. Good courtesy breakfast.
Cons: I had third floor which I requested. My room was near the fast(and very loud) security hall door. It would be nice to make this door close quietly.
Location: Walking was very easy. It is a fairly long walk to pier but when you get tired of walking city buses come fairly often. A laundromat was a few blocks
Santa Monica Blvd. is very convenient. There are many places to eat. A laundromat is a couple blocks down the street. There are 2 city bus lines(with different prices) you have to read the bus signs to know which bus stops where. It is a fairly long but easy walk to the pier. I walked most of the time. The Third Street Promenade is very lively with street performers. I used Big Blue Bus from the airport but because of time constraints called a shuttle service to return. I would most likely stay at Comfort Inn again.

Good hotel but out of Santa MonicaPosted Sep 9, 2015
This was a good stop and the pool was a welcome break after a day of hollywood sight seeing. Easy to get a bus to the Santa Monica pier if you don't want to drive but you will meet the local characters. Breakfast room was chaotic and too small for size of hotel. Making it difficult to find somewhere to sit and the breakfast room appeared not to be air conditioned. A few nice tables outside if you were lucky enough to get one.
