Large room but bad areaPosted Oct 5, 2015
The hotel is about 10 minutes from the beach, but it isn't in the best neighborhood. Hotel advertises "heated pool", pool was not heated. The room was very large with a stove and refrigerator and a kitchen sink, but the sink was backed up with brown gunky water. They had a free breakfast, but it wasn't that good at all. Next time I go to the beach I'll be looking for a different hotel.

Worst Stay in a Long TimePosted Sep 7, 2015
Cons: Comfort Inn corporate people should visit this property and evaluate it to see if it can meet their quality requirements.
Neighborhood was sketchy (bars on windows on most houses across the street). Many things didn't work - coffee maker, hair dryer, electrical outlets and more. Interior lights were out (room entrance). Furniture missing (?) - coffee maker was about shin high on a luggage holder. Breakfast area was dirty in places - the upholstered seat back. The staff seemed like they were surprised when I reported the list of things that needed attention. (Aren't they monitoring the quality of their property?). The name is misleading. There was no convention center near by. Assumed a convention center proximity would provide an acceptable room. We were very wrong. We chose this property so we would be reasonably close to the Catalina Express to Catalina Island. It was a 15 minute drive to go 3 miles.

Great hotel, close to metroPosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Bed, plenty of parking
Great hotel - good facilities, pleasant staff. Room was spacious and clean. Fantastic bed - very comfy. Pool was good too. Location pretty blah - plenty of fast food restaurants around the hotel and some shops across the road. Best thing is the Metro is right around the corner with a short ride down to Long Beach, or a longer ride into town - I think it was just over an hour with a change of line to get up to Hollywood.

Great Long Beach hotel for the price.Posted Jul 8, 2015 on Hotels
Don't let the bland exterior fool you! This is a quaint little hotel with polite staff, a beautiful enclosed courtyard/pool, comfy rooms/beds with plenty of pillows, a convenient location, and a good breakfast. staff: called for early check in, said ok and no fee. Unfortunately, someone else got there first, so they said they'd call as soon as room available. The courtyard: entirely enclosed and accessible only with a room key. Large, lots of plants, plenary of amenities. Every room looked over the pool/courtyard. Laundry room just off the courtyard. Room: beds were *very* comfortable. Extra pillows already in room. Fridge and microwave. Room was spacious, even with all the furniture. Location: not within walking distance of attractions, but short drive to Long Beach pier. If you forgot anything for your trip, it's near several stores, including CVS, grocery store, and Goodwill. Also has plenty of dinner options nearby. Breakfast: not fancy, but covers all the bases. Two types of cereal, two types of juice, milk, yogurt, coffee, hot chocolate, bread for toast, a chafing dish with egg folded over cheese, ham slices and roasted potato squares, regular and chocolate waffle batter, and a pastry selection (not plastic wrapped). Much better than I expected for that price in LA area.

Excellent choice for the moneyPosted Jul 1, 2015
Great location next to metro, groceries, and restaurants. Clean rooms, grounds, pool and breakfast area. Understanding and helpful staff when my son spilled a 2 liter of soda (they cleaned it up very well, too)! Friendly and individualized service at the front desk. I would stay there again!!

It was a nice refuge in a rather undesirable area. I felt safe, and slept well.
