Unexpected weather makes one great moment like shown here.
#waterlust At the back of the museum is a pond with a guide explaining the different starfishes the museum have. Very nice lighthouse. Make sure to stop by when the volunteers are doing tours of the building so you can go inside and learn some history! Hours: Tues-Sun 1-4pm; closed holidays. Tours @ 1, 2, and 3pm. Lighthouse in San Pedro, unlike any I've seen before. The scenery is amazing.. Point Fermin Light was built in 1874 with lumber from California redwoods.
In 1941 the light was extinguished due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. There was fear that the light would serve as a beacon for enemy planes and ships. Later, the lantern room and gallery were removed. They were replaced by a lookout shack that remained for the next 30 years, and was referred to as Hot double pastrami sandwich. They warm up the cold pastrami cuts in the hot seasoned broth before they make sandwich so the meat is still very juicy and not over cooked. The bread is freshly made as well. WWII San Pedro Bunkers.
Make your way through a small hole in the fence and you will find yourself in bunkers from WWII. Now this area is used as a skate park.

Punkers made this place their home in the 80's The bridge connecting San Pedro and Long Beach Beautiful Terminal island. Beautiful on the inside. Sunken city is the name given to this cool place in San Pedro, California. This used to be a neighborhood on a cliffside, but decades ago a landslide caused them to fall into the ocean. Now you can go and explore the old pipes and slabs of concrete that remain. Graffiti artists tag on the old concrete so it gives it an artistic feel as well. It's private property and trespassing is prohibited so enter at your own risk. Perfect place to relax and enjoy weekend Lots of cool stuff during low tides.
