Mid week getaway.

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Hotel is just "ok" nothing special. There seems to be a lot of people just hanging around in the middle of the day. Even saw a couple of homeless on the grounds. The reason we picked this hotel was that they allowed dogs. We had our little yorkie with us that was only $25 estar for pets. Other places charge a lot more.

Okay place to stay

Posted Feb 3, 2017
Okay place for just one night. Not clean in lobby or elevator. Room okay but only slept there. No breakfast. You get what you pay for.

The worst experience

Posted Jan 30, 2017
I booked for 2 nights extended to 4 for health issues. Never room service and when I requested it they told me that I have to take the sheets to the lobby get clean ones and do it myself. If I want a room service I have to pay $ 10.00 extra.. don't mind the money but after paying to Expedia $228.00 and $ 360.00 extras per the follow 2 day that I extended my stay.. Ridiculous...!!! $ 140.00 extras for book it at the location and nothing but a worst service ever. Long beach is a great city with wonderful places and better hotels, feel embarrassed of this place. I am resident of long beach who made a huge mistake. I will make sure everybody in this city knows about this place and his horrendous management.

Maria, We sincerely apologize for your lack of satisfaction with our services and amenities. With our hotel being geared to guests staying for longer stays of 8 or more nights, we have learned from them they prefer minimal intrusions which is why we offer weekly housekeeping service, and additional service is available for those guests requesting it. We are sorry you were not more familiar with our style of hotel which led to your disappointment. We do hope you will give us another opportunity now that you are more familiar with our style of hotel. Thank you, General Manager

Pros: It was good for me.
Cons: stronger internet, brighter/happier rooms
Location: close to airport, some parks, across from Long Beach PD, felt safe
It was good for me. I would not have stayed there with my family. Older location but everything worked. I was able to get plates, silverware from the front but did not realize that it wasn't readily available. Internet was good for email and surfing the web, had issues downloading shows. Also the hallway carpets had not been cleaned in a while.

Hot boxed in the hood.

ESA charging more than $50 a night is appalling. There were cigarette butts everywhere and bums that loiter in the parking lot all day and night. The housekeeping and lobby were fine, but I was disappointed by the room and the "grab & go" breakfast. There was nothing to grab. No fruit, just 99 cent store muffins and the dry granola bars nobody likes. It's probably a good thing ESA doesn't offer a continental breakfast because it would likely become a health hazard. I felt I could only trust the staff to program the key. I'm not sure if this is standard issue, but the entire second floor reeked of weed smoke from multiple rooms that was so thick that you could see it hovering around the lights. The circulation system of the floor wafted the smoke throughout my room and got to be so bad that I got a contact high. When I got in the car my friend asked me if I'd been smoking out. Ugh. No. Revolting. My dog was with me in the room and he was knocked out on the bed. I couldn't figure out why he was so quiet. It was extremely disturbing. I cancelled my reservation a day early, got a refund and found a much better hotel in Seal Beach for only $25 more. This place is a joke.

Breakfast

Posted Dec 29, 2016
Pros: convenience to family
Cons: Breakfast
Location: We were there for family
Breakfast is a "to go" consisting of a muffin or granola bar with coffee and tea. Don't expect a Continental breakfast. We had an issue with one of the rooms and they compt us one night. Staff were excellent

Will not stay again

Hotel staff was very nice, but most of the guests are transient workers and the odors of cooking, Marijuana smoke, and loud people in the hallways made this a miserable week.
