Getting old in a rundown neighborhood

The hotel appears to be fairly old, and while it is fairly well-maintained, it's getting to the point of needing a pretty complete renovation. The included breakfast was pretty good, except that the eggs appeared to be powdered eggs, and tasted like it. And when we arrived, although we had booked a room with king bed, we were given a room with two queen beds instead, with no warning. We went back to the front desk and had to ask for a manager, who found an unused king, which is probably an upgraded room, but it met our desires. The room itself got a lot of street noise, and an occasional droning metallic noise that seemed to come from the refrigerator. Additionally, the room carpet was rather dirty, and the neighborhood is rundown.
