It was a fine place for our reason for staying. We stayed 3 nts for a volleyball tournament at a local beach. We had the added stress of traveling with our pet. The Hilton Garden Inn made the pet accommodations very easy, and the added price for a pet stay was very reasonable (compared to other hotels in the area). They have grassy areas for pet use, which was nice - the area is otherwise kind of industrial. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. We did not get the chance to use the amenities during our stay, but everything looked clean. One qualm (having nothing much to do with the hotel), was other guests would leave their trash outside their room door and it only got picked up or cleaned 1x/day - leaving sometimes a hideous smell throughout the hotel hallway (luckily it did not permeate into our room). Parking was easy (and although an added fee for most) because we booked thru Expedia, parking was included in our price per night (which was a bonus! Cuz parking in Los Angeles is expensive EVERYWHERE!)
Our only true complaint was they placed us in a room that faced the loud and busy freeway - which for pets, can be very stressful. My recommendation would be to request a room that doesn’t face the fwy if you are traveling with a pet. We didn’t complain or request a room change, but we should have.
For a quick trip to the Southbay, LA proper, or the Westside of LA, this hotel was reasonably priced, clean, and had nice amenities. Staff was pleasant.
