OLD PASADENA GLAMOR

Pros: SPACIOUS ROOM
Cons: tv SHOULD BE HUNG ON WALL
Location: GREAT COFFEE. WE HAD TO SPEND THE WEeKEND IN FLINTRIDGE AT THE RIDING CLUB SO THIS WAS A NICE PLACE TO RELAX AFTERWARDS
NICE POOL. GOOD FOOD. GREAT SERVICE. There was a wedding the weekend we were there and it was nice to see everyone so dressed up and properly attired!

This place is opulent - old school glamour. We wanted for nothing during our stay. They upgraded us to a room overlooking the gardens.

Gorgeous Hotel is becoming our tradition

My family and I stayed at The Langham on our final night in Calfornia. We felt well catered to from start to finish. The receptionist was very kind and check in was a breeze. Our group was blown away by the ambiance of the hotel and were more than satisfied with our well appointed rooms. The pool area was lovely. My friend and I relaxed by the huge pool while our children played. The poolside bar was a nice touch and there was the option to order food and drinks and have it brought right to your chaise lounge! Staff were exceptionally kind, and the dinner was excellent, though a bit on the pricey side which is not surprising given the elegance of the hotel. The only bummer was the views from our hotel room. Though we had a lovely view of Pasadena at night, during the day we looked out onto a bare roof that needed a good sweeping and hosing down of nature's detritus. This can easily be remedied by the maintenance staff. All in all a lovely stay at The Langham. Our family will definitely be making this a yearly tradition!

Showing Its Age

Its an old hotel in a quiet neighborhood with lovely grounds. But the wear and tear is showing. Rugs in the hallways are worn and by the looks, never vacuumed. The cleanliness in the room was iffy, especially in my bathroom. No attention to detail. Sink was clogged, toilet running, hair in the tub. Its trying very hard to be a 5 star but cant quite get out of its own way.

Pros: The grounds are georgeous.
Cons: Steak house - steak was not as I had hoped - quality and temperature.
Beautiful and wonderful stay. You can't help but relax and enjoy.

Need improvement

Pros: The room is spacious and clean though.
Bathroom configuration is poor. You can bump your head when using the sink because there is a piece of counter hanging over it for your tumbler/face towels, etc., but it is so small that you cannot put your toiletery on. Floor is squeaky and you can hear people bang their doors when open or close. Though renovated, it still has the stale old structure smell. The bed is situated in such that you can feel the air blowing right towards your head. We have to turn the AC off in order to sleep. The worst thing happened to us is the valet parking scratched our car sometime during the overnight parking, so make sure you check before you drive away when you check out. The manager of the valet is extremely nice though. He reviewed the tape from the camera and takes the responsibility, file a claim for us.

I love this place

I had a wonderful experience. From check in to check out, the staff was attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. The food we ordered from room service and it was absolutely wonderful. My husband had filet mignon and I enjoyed the stuffed chicken with cheesecake for dessert. The room cost is reasonable but the fee for valet, bottled water and even charge for the self-serve coffee in the room-which I did not realize. The room and bed were comfortable. I will definitely return.
