The staff are great, good food around the area, and the rooms are nice. No spectacular views but it's very worth the price

I hate places like this. My key card wouldn’t work and I had trouble getting in my room the first 45 minutes of checking in. Some rooms are smoking friendly and others aren’t…I chose a non smoking room because my original room door looks like it was broken into. The evening staff was a pain in the ass but I was expecting it being Black. I paid for one night and I’m glad that’s all I paid for. A/C unit didn’t worked and it took forever to warm up my room. They gave me a connecting room so I had to prop up a chair to not worry about something happening when I slept. Don’t know if it was other guest or staff but someone kept making noise in the hallway. It was a last minute booking but I should have shopped around some more.

This place is pretty gross. I slept here for 5 hours while waiting on the first Metrolink ride home. Smells bad and weird and the carpet is disgusting. The only positive is the location.

The hotel was very inexpensive, so I was expecting a room like something from Quality Inn or Best Western. But my room was modern and beautiful, as was the hallway. The lobby less so, to put it mildly. I understand that only 1/4 of the rooms were renovated as of 12/23, so one should specify a renovated room. This hotel is very good value, but be aware that the neighborhood is quite run-down, with homeless tents on nearby streets. Still, the hotel is a quick walk to Union Station, so you have the advantage of access to many areas of LA without a car.

Seedy but passable; great location; clueless staff
发布日期：2023年12月11日 发布在：HotelsMost hotels understand that two people staying in a room do not always arrive and leave together, but the staff at the Metro Plaza are unable to grasp such a complex concept. I checked in by myself, on a Thursday evening in December, and when I went out the next day I had the desk clerk make two keys and put one aside for my friend. Four hours later my friend arrived while I was out, and no-one at the front desk had any idea of who he was or what they needed to do. The incompetence of the front desk staff at this hotel is truly mind-boggling.
Other than that, the stay was great. The hotel is less than 15 minutes’ walk from Union Station, and Chinatown is just around the corner. There are a half-dozen museums, monuments, and historic sites within walking distance, and easy transit connections to other downtown attractions. The world-famous Philippe Restaurant is on the next corner, serving fabulous breakfast dishes until 10:30 am daily.
The property itself is going to seed, although it clearly used to be nice. The room featured a working clock radio, an air-conditioner that was newish and nice, and phones on the desk and in the bathroom that actually worked (!). The bed was comfortable and there was no noise from other rooms (although the hotel did not appear to be that busy when we were there).
Signs Scotch-taped to the walls herald the start of renovations … nine months earlier. I did look at one of the renovated rooms, and it was very nice.
