My wife and I stayed one night at this unique Hollywood B&B offered on Orbitz.
There was no front desk and the instructions upon arrival were unclear as to how to access the locked front door. I called the owner of the house and this did the trick. The host (home owner) was friendly. We were shown to our room, were given some simple instructions and rules and given a set of house keys. We were also told that breakfast was only to be served from 7-9 AM. We did not take advantage of it so we could not opine.
Our bed was comfortable, the towels were clean and the counter tops we're neat. But the window blinds looked like they hadn't been dusted in quite some time. It deterred us from opening our windows.
A definite highlight was the location; A 5 minute drive from Universal Studios and a 10 minutes drive from Hollywood's tourist center.
One concern during our stay is that the owners of the house made us feel rushed to check out on Sunday. They had given us a courteous reminder at about 8:30 AM but then opened our unlocked room door at about 9:00 AM, probably assuming we had left. Also, we never really felt comfortable enough to explore the house and relax.
Overall, if you are visiting the Hollywood area or are visiting Universal Studios and want to save some money, try this place out. But, if you are one that likes the consistent services and conveniences that a hotel provides, find a hotel and pay the extra cash.
