Excellent location, clean, and friendly

Posted Jul 18, 2017
Pros: The location was nice and the place was very hip.
Cons: Prices of drinks at pool were expensive.
Location: Too many things to add. Everything lets just say!
We had a wonderful view and our room was super cool. Great pool parties.

Tired hotel, grumpy staff, decent pool area

Posted Jul 16, 2017
What once was clearly a very trendy hotel is now let down by old decor, tired looking rooms and staff that couldn't care less if you are there or not. We decided to go with the Mondrian due to enjoying the Mondrian in London, we thought it would be ideal for a trip to LA, while the pool area is great and if you can manage to get on of the 20 or so beds (get there early) the atmosphere is good, the rest of the hotel looks like it needs a renovation and definitely some new staff. Next time I'd stay anywhere else and just come to the pool parties.

I will never stay here again. Ever. Horrible staff and service which is unfortunate for such a well located hotel and pool.

Mondrian weekend trip to west hollywood

Posted Jul 14, 2017
My girlfriend and I came to the Mondrian to enjoy a weekend escape to LA to find a relaxing and hospitable place to decompress in the Southern California sunshine by the poolside. While the hotel was well kempt and maintained, we found ourselves competing with non-hotel guests for areas around the pool for chaise lounges. When she and I made our way to the pool on both Saturday and Sunday, we found that 90% of the pool had been reserved for people willing to pay exorbitant bottle service prices for real estate around the poolside and that hotel guests were relegated to only the 8 or so chaise lounges which were out of eyesight from the pool, and highly sought after. Additionally, while I was waiting in line to use the pool bathrooms, others in line decided to leave to use the pool as a bathroom. This made me feel uncomfortable about enjoying the pool at all. If you too are considering the Mondrian property because of the beautiful photos online, be aware that you will hardly have access to the resort you thought you were paying for and may find yourself standing in others' urine if you are able to make your way into the pool at all. This was a $700 mistake that I want to help others avoid.

All hype, no substance.

Pretentious overpriced older hotel. Typical West Hollywood Los Angeles fakeness. Other hotels offering better service value for cheaper or the same price. I will never be coming back here again total rip-off.

Unfrindly hotel

Posted Jul 9, 2017
We layover in LA to our trip to Hawaii, we choose Mondrian cause we thought we will have the excellent standars of Morgan Hotel's, hwever it was not the case. Dirty carpet on the rooms and hallways, worn out furniture, unequipped room, unfriendly front desk, desorganized restaurant and bar service.

Not as good as it should be

Posted Jul 9, 2017
Very surprised that a hotel of this stature does not provide complementary wi-fi in rooms. Like the extortionate minibar, there's nothing done to make the experience in any way welcoming. Everything is focused on looking superficially good, and not thinking about the hotel guests. Its more important to the hotel that the pool area be available for model shoots than guests.

Ridiculous theme hotel on the sunset strip

Posted Jun 24, 2017
We arrived to a pleasant enough check in experience and got an upgrade to a one bedroom suite. The hotel decor is amazing and very white. After the excitement of the room wore off we made our way to the pool. The pool is basically a ridiculous MTV beach party reality show with LAs finest and those trying to be them. Men with oiled chests and Ken doll hair, women wearing thongs and high heels, and bartenders who blow whistles while delivering bottles of rose to people then throw up handfuls of napkins as if they were money or confetti. It's like a surreal film. Better have had some work done and ombré hair or this is not for you. Also the Sunday night pool party is basically a hunting groubd for wanna be models from studio city and grumpy NBA lookalikes all giving each other the cold shoulder. What takes the cake is that it took us until 10pm at night to get our room cleaned after calling 3 times. The whole place is some kind of kafkaesque nightmare/fantasy: I did find a large roach in the sink if the pool ladies room. The only people who seemed to know what they were doing was the valet staff, but then again cars are the one thing in LA that you never treat with disrespect. I truly made some memories I will never forget!
