Exceeding expectations

Pros: The front desk person, Alex. Break fast was really good, the staff was attentive and kept supplying stock, and the breakfast area was clean.
Cons: The room could probably use some decorative updating, but it was extremely clean - which is more important.
Location: We were visiting friends
We really didn't expect much... we don't typically spend too much on hotels - at the most $150/night. So we stay at the Hampton Inn most of the time. As most of you know Hampton Inns are pretty decent, clean and good breakfast. This Quality Inn in Walnut is on that level of hotel at a price much lower than at the Hampton Inn. In fact the breakfast was better than any Hampton Inn we've stayed in. Additionally, the staff was incredibly welcoming, especially the hotel desk person, Alex, he was very professional and extremely helpful when we showed up really early for check-in.

Good size of room, comfortable beds

Staffs were kind of cold. Didn't mention wifi and breakfast details at all. Got in to the room on second floor which was not even clean up yet.

Nice hotel closed to everything I needed.

Just needed to be there for a service, I wasn't familiar with the area to my distation. Come to see I was only 3 miles for it.

I stay in this area on a monthly basis. I only stay at the Quality when the Best Western down the street is FULL. The Quality INN is not walking distance to anything and smells like smoke just about everywhere. It's a slight upgrade to the Motel 6. Breakfast offering is excellent and a nice pool.

front office disappointed

when i just arrived the hotel reception , no one staff on there, only one board mentioned ' sorry will be back something', when staff back to reception, made my registration(check in ) , never smile, and when i say thank you to him twice, never reply 'you are welcome' to me. i was studied hotel management major at Switzerland 14years ago for my bachelor . i definitely understand what is HOSPITALITY means, and as a hotelier be polite is a basic basic basic requirement. thank you , i will still trust expedia service, and never back to this hotel for staying . this is not complaint, just give a reminder for them making better.

Smells. Dirty carpet and furniture was old.

Room smelled, too much carpet in the hotel and old furniture for Quality Inn and suites.

Unfortunately had to deal with non-functioning items in the room. The ironing board did not work, I asked for a replacement the next morning. I was brought a replacement, but that second one did not work either. After waiting for yet another replacement for about 45 minutes, I had to call and ask what time they'd be bringing it. Finally after the 3rd try, I was able to get a working ironing board.
