The location is very noisy and in a bad neighborhood. The hot tub they advertised is actually a mini swimming pool. The room itself was rundown. Drawers in kitchen wouldn’t close, hardly any utensils for cooking or eating. They ran out of towels every day. No ice. Only good thing was one very nice lady at the front desk.

The check in process was by far the worst that I have ever experienced. It took over 20 minutes to try to check in since the receptionist was unable to print the check in form and could not find a generic hard copy of the form for me to sign. That was AFTER waiting 15 minutes for the receptionist to take care of the guest in front of me that needed a receipt of his stay. I asked, but the receptionist would not let me go to my room while waiting for resolution of the printing issue even though the keys were already flashed. Again, worst experience ever - I will not be staying at this hotel ever again.

My check in went ok. Hannah was nice, polite. When i asked about the points an unknown employer popped in and told me im not eligibile regardless of my platinum status. My room was ok. I discovered things that lets me know it wasnt cleaned properly. I had hair in my towels in the bathroom, the floors hadnt been swept. I did bring this to the attention of the front desk but no one has contacted me. Parking is a bit of an issue. There was one guest who took 3 spaces. I told the ladu at the front desk and she was like whatever. Its dangerous behind the hotel because there is no security. Also i fou d a used condom near my car...that was nice....overall it could have been better

Being next to the train tracks, I was worried it would be noisy, but there's no crossing nearby and the low rumble of the freight trains was barely noticeable. The hotel and room was modern, clean, and well-kept. The staff were friendly and the distance to the convention center is easily walkable. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge, two-burner induction hot plate, pots, pans, plates and utensils as well as a dishwasher. Would happily stay here again.

The receptionist doesn’t know what she’s doing and has to make phone calls everytime someone needs to check in! Please do some orientation first before doing the actual work!!! What a terrible experience for someone who drives far from sacramento to just check into the hotel. Will never come back to this hotel!!

Wonderful stay
Great stay. Very comfortable and clean! Bathroom fixtures need securing. Bathroom sink faucet moves from side to side when turning on the faucet. The cover plates on the towel racks falls off easily.

Friendly atmosphere. Very dedicated & efficient housekeepers. Clean & well-maintained premises on par with high-end, more expensive hotels at a much lower price. Fully equipped mini kitchens with full fridge, microwave, stovetop, & dishwasher. They do not offer daily room servicing but clean linen is available when requested.

We keep coming back because Candlewood is clean. The rooms are spacious enough with mini kitchens with full fridge, range, and everything you could need to be self-sufficient. The staff are very friendly and the housekeepers put their heart and soul into their job (with the exception of one in particular). Housekeepers do such an excellent job multi-tasking, it is worth mentioning. Grocery & shopping are close by by car; not a friendly walking area. Free coffee but no breakfast. Overall, Candlewood is comparable to the better hotels in the area except it is bordered by the airport noise on one side & Holt Blvd traffic on the other. As long as the windows stay closed, noise won't be a problem.
