A great stay at the safari innPosted Sep 25, 2015
I would highly recommend this motel to anyone hoping to stay in the LA area. The motel is lovely, the rooms are always clean and tidy, very spacist and also come with air conditioning which is a bonus. The receptionists are very friendly and are always happy to help out when needed to be. The safari also has a nice little heated swimming pool which stays open long hours so its great to cool off in the Californian heat. There's a bus stop outside the motel for easy access to the main areas such as Hollywood or even stops outside universal studios which is great. All in all I had a lovely stay here and if I come back to LA I would make this my first choice.

Safari, So good!Posted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: Almost everything! Good location, nice people, comfortable bed, nice sized room, a fridge & AC (It gets hot) and convenient for lots of things to do!
Cons: Not really. It is a little dated and that is part of the charm. If it had a revamp, it might be out of my budget for next time!!
Location: Convenient for Warner Bros Studio, Burbank Town Centre, lots of eateries, Griffith Park and a smashing couple of massage places nearby after a walk!
I spent 8 nights here in September 2015. Had a great stay. Check-in was easy (and fun due to my accent!) and that was the theme of the stay. Everyone I encountered was nice and friendly. The room had everything I needed, a comfortable bed, a good shower, a fridge (needed to keep water ice cold as it was hot!!) and an iron! It is in a convenient location for many things to do in Southern California. Great things on the doorstep, and a short drive to the Interstates that can whisk you off to many great places. I visited Solvang (the furthest I went while staying here), Santa Barbara (great Whale Watching trip), Long Beach (nice walk), Santa Monica (brilliant sunset!), Malibu and many more! The Swimming pool was refreshing, the gym (although very small) was handy for losing the excesses of each day, the mini laundrette was very handy for a mid-holiday wash! They also had a laundry service, which was reasonable value. Safari Inn doesn't have an onsite restaurant, but their sister hotel has Olive's Bistro and it is literally next door! Great breakfasts were eaten here, 7 out of my 8 mornings, so I'm sure the food is just as good the rest of the day (although I didn't, due to always being out and about at meal times!). The staff at Olive's were also nice and friendly. I also felt safe going for walks in the area at night. All in all, a great low-mid budget place to stay! I will certainly be back on my next trip to the area, probably even if I win the lottery too!

Nicer than I thought it would bePosted Sep 17, 2015
Pros: Customer service and cleanliness.
Stayed here overnight prior to flying out of the Burbank airport. Customer service was excellent. They arranged for a shuttle to the airport for me. The room was clean with updated decor. Actually much nicer than I expected from the exterior look of the hotel. I would stay here again.

Universal WeekendPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The staff was helpful & pleasant
Cons: Parking lot re-designed to be accessible, tight quarters. Driving a SUV & nearly could not maneuver through the parking-lot.
Location: Close to restaurants, pubs & convenience shopping all walking distance.
Charming hotel, staff pleasant, facilities well maintained and close to Universal studios attraction. Only down side the parking is tight & horrible.

Too expensivePosted Aug 17, 2015
The hotel is way too expensive for what amounts to a1970s motel. The location is very convenient though

Doesn't like a 3 star, but nice location.Posted Aug 15, 2015
Pros: close to universal studio.
Based on the facilities, it doesn't look like a 3 star hotel to me. It is more like a 2 star motel. The room doesn't have microwave, which is a big inconvenience to us. The staff is nice.

Not worth the pricePosted Aug 12, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly. Pool was nicely heated, so nice that in the cloudy morning it's better than in the hot day.
Cons: Remodel (bathroom). Furniture needs replacement (esp. the bed). Carpet needs to be shampooed more frequently.
Location: Location is good. Nearby the studios. Near the freeway. Near shopping mall.
I saw the rating was high, and since it's close to many places, I decided to give it a go. Definitely overpriced at the price I paid, and that's already with expedia bidding. Here's why: 1. When we checked in we found bugs on the bathtub floor. No clue what they are? Looks like roachlings? Flush them into the drain, didn't come back. 2. Bed is really really soft. We had 2 double beds, both are too soft. Softer than my 10+ yr old mattress at home. Maybe old and worn out? 3. There's no breakfast. Most other comparable hotels have it, even those with restaurants. 4. Their excuse for no breakfast is because they have a restaurant. This is a big lie. The restaurant is in the sister hotel across the street. Good thing they are close to Fresh and Easy, McD, etc. so it was not hard to find food. 5. The amenities are just out of date. No microwave in the room (there's community microwave, in the laundry room of all places). 6. Carpet is filthy, especially near corners, etc. 7. Coffee maker is WAY too small (single cup) for the coffee bag provided that it spills all over whenever we make coffee. 8. Cabinet with hanger smells yuck. Like someone put food that went bad in there. 9. Parking is really really tough. We had a van, and luckily we were able to find parking at the end of the lot which was probably for trailer cause it's extra long. But going through the rows of parked cars was like going through a gauntlet. 10. Toilet is very small. I am already pretty small.
