Pros: inexpensive, convenient location
We stayed for one night in a location near our medical appointment.

The room was surface clean but the shower had stains and a bug. Beds were ok but one had a bed frame that both my husband and I cut our shins on. I would not stay here again.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.Posted Oct 18, 2015
First off, rooms were not ready until 4 oclock. Three families traveling together, our rooms were scattered, not even close. Two of the rooms were ungodly hot and would not cool down. I requested a new room. Air was ok. But I wouldn't step one foot in the shower it was aweful. I guess you get what you pay for.

Roaches in the room. Room smelled "old".Posted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: Very close to the water and various local attractions and restaurants.
Cons: Condition of the rooms. Make them free of bugs including the ants in the shower. Teach desk staff to "delight" their guests.
Location: 2nd Street, Claim Jumper, and the water...
There were roaches and an assortment of other bugs in the room. Several large roaches crawled out of the clock. Room in dire need of repair. There were missing tiles in the bathroom. Outlet covers missing in the room. Several cats roamed the property. My desk staff were less than cordial and appeared bothered by my wanting to check-in and check-out. They charged a security deposit on a hotel room...unheard of in all my years of traveling. I killed several roaches in the cafe we used for our event. I told maintainence...he chuckled. A dog was allowed to sit on the sofas in the public areas and clean/groomed himself. Yes...it was a male dog. Our event coordinator was warm, welcoming and helpful. However, she was absent during the event. Would never return. Would never suggest to anyone.

It was positively gross. Stains on wall and carpet. Room smelled. Staff was nice and professional. Bed was uncomfortable. Sheets were well worn. Bathroom was clean. Water pressure was adequate. I would not use again. Too expensive for a gross stay.

We would not return.Posted Sep 15, 2015
Location: The location was fine; that is the reason we chose to stay there in the first place.
The room had peeling wallpaper, unfilled holes in the door jamb where the security lock had been ripped out, a horrible shower head that was almost cutting in it's intensity, a shower door that could barely be pushed on it's track, and general uncleanliness.

Good for the pricePosted Aug 19, 2015 on Hotels
It was a nice stay. The problem with this hotel is it is old. The breakfast was too basic, and the pool was not well kept. The showers are needing new shower heads. The good about this hotel was the price, the location to local transportation, the staff was nice, and the rooms, although they were old with worn capets and paint, were big and had two sinks, and a frig. Overall, if you are not going to anything but sleep and shower at this hotel it is a fair price for the stay.

Just an OK stay -- but not terriblePosted Aug 10, 2015 on Hotels
It's not too bad -- the room is clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are a ton of places that are in walking distance where you can eat and drink. An AMC movie theater is also right across the street. 2nd street and Seal beach are also very close (driving). Both are worth checking out. I'd try to get an inside room. The rooms that face the marina are close to the road. They can get pretty noisy in the morning. The property is a little rundown, though. The parking lot can definitely use repaving. However, you can tell this place was pretty special at one time. The continental breakfast is barely passable. However, you can augment the free fruit, bread, and coffee with a standard breakfast menu, which was very reasonable (price wise). I saw a lot of people do this. No wifi in the room is archaic. Overall -- better than a standard motel, but below a nicer hotel.
