Sheraton Hotel close to LAX

Posted Jul 22, 2017
Pros: Proximity to LAX
Cons: Better attention to detail. I
Location: Took Uber to Manhattan beach, excellent places to eat.
I have stayed at other Sheraton Hotels on my recent trip but have to say this wasn't up to the standards charged. There was no fridge in the room, only 1 bottle of water despite 2 people staying. Towels in the room for 1 person as well. The bins were not emptied from the previous occupants. The room was an executive suite but looked very aged. I will definitely not be staying here again. Not worth the money. The only advantage was the shuttle to the hotel which other hotels in the area also provide. I had complained but was told that the facilities are to "standard". My advice is to spend your money elsewhere where it's appreciated. I wanted a nice, relaxed clean place for me and my wife before our flight home but were very disappointed.

Nice hotel near the airport

Posted Jul 20, 2017
Great hotel for the family but the parking sucks. Its $17.55 per night and no free wireless.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We never like to read that the cost of parking ruined a guest’s experience, as we do find that our rates are comparable to our area. We hope you’ll give us another opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

The hotel canceled my prepaid reservation, because I arrived a day late due to American Airlines canceling my flight. I explained that to the hotel manager and they refused to refund my money.

Comfort and great location

Posted Jul 19, 2017
Pros: Hotel was wonderfully updated. Great pool area, good workout gym .The bed was very comfortable and had a 40 + in. TV. The coffee machine (Starbucks)
Cons: possibly a continental breakfast included with price would be a great attraction even though the hotel had a Starbucks and a couple of eateries
Location: The beach cites all very Close, Manhattan , Venice , Redondo, Santa Monica . Many shopping centers and Restaurants close by
I got great value for my stay in Los Angeles. There was free shuttle rides to and from the Hotel which made life easier. The weather was fantastic and I participated in various July 4th activities.Always Lots to do in L A .Endless sun and beaches, great restaurants, unlimited activities with constant visual stimulation in all directions.

Full-service lovely hotel only 5 minutes to LAX

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: The mattress and bedding are fantastic! Hotel staff are friendly and made us feel welcome and safe.
Cons: We missed having a place where we could grab a sandwich or light lunch and avoid paying the high cost of sitting down & being served in the restaurant
Location: Sheraton Gateway is closest and best hotel for entrance to LAX. Upon leaving, we were dropped off in 5 min. Mostly hotels in the area, not much to do
My sister and I waited only 5 minutes for courtesy van pickup at LAX and were checked into our room within 20 minutes after pickup. We arrived at 11:30 am and were given a room immediately -- very early considering 3:00 is check-in time. We took an Uber to Hollywood (traffic is heavy, took an hour) and toured the sights at Grauman theater and had dinner at Hard Rock. We came back to our hotel around 9 pm, showered and settled into our beds. We both felt that the bedding and mattresses were the most comfortable beds we had ever slept on -- and we are seasoned travelers. The next day we were going to Studio City to participate in an audience for a TV show. The concierge was extremely helpful in explaining how we could get to Studio City using public transportation. Since this travel involved going to the airport and getting a Fly By bus to downtown LA and then taking a train, he even wrote out all the instructions so we wouldn't forget. He said to allow 2 hours. After some consideration, we again took an Uber ... this ride was also 1 hour. Studio city is a nice little town near Universal where we had lunch before the taping, and then 5 hours later, we had dinner there too. Traffic is a nightmare in LA. Be sure to allow extra time no matter where you are going. Breakfast at the hotel is pricey, so we walked a block down the street to a small cafe. However, we highly recommend the Sheraton Gateway for it's comfort and for anyone who prefers to stay close to LAX airport.
