Working through Expedia, I reserved a room with roll-in shower and pool view. The shower request accommodates my partner who is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Expedia placed me on hold in order to contact the hotel to confirm the availability of my requested room. I completed the reservation only after I was informed the room was available. On the day of check-in, we contacted to hotel to inform them we would be checking in late as we were driving from San Diego. We were told that would not be a problem. Upon arrival, we had to enter the front desk through the side restaurant because there wasn't a front entrance ramp. The back entry had heavy glass doors without an electronic door opener. At check-in we were told the original reservation was not available but another room with roll-in shower was. The room had a tiny bathroom and small tub. A wheelchair could not move in the room to transfer to the tub and could not accommodate my partner's shower/commode chair (the reason for the roll-in shower reservation). There were no grab bars near the toilet. This was not an accessible room alternative. When I communicated the problems, the manager stated there were no other accommodations. We were forced to locate another hotel. In addition, there was a film crew filming in our hallway. We were blocked from entering our room, noise etc. Plastic floor sheeting, mattresses propped against the walls and power cords created a tripping hazard. I would never recommend this hotel.
