Poor Accommodations

Posted Oct 12, 2016
Location: None known the facilities were unacceptable.
Working through Expedia, I reserved a room with roll-in shower and pool view. The shower request accommodates my partner who is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Expedia placed me on hold in order to contact the hotel to confirm the availability of my requested room. I completed the reservation only after I was informed the room was available. On the day of check-in, we contacted to hotel to inform them we would be checking in late as we were driving from San Diego. We were told that would not be a problem. Upon arrival, we had to enter the front desk through the side restaurant because there wasn't a front entrance ramp. The back entry had heavy glass doors without an electronic door opener. At check-in we were told the original reservation was not available but another room with roll-in shower was. The room had a tiny bathroom and small tub. A wheelchair could not move in the room to transfer to the tub and could not accommodate my partner's shower/commode chair (the reason for the roll-in shower reservation). There were no grab bars near the toilet. This was not an accessible room alternative. When I communicated the problems, the manager stated there were no other accommodations. We were forced to locate another hotel. In addition, there was a film crew filming in our hallway. We were blocked from entering our room, noise etc. Plastic floor sheeting, mattresses propped against the walls and power cords created a tripping hazard. I would never recommend this hotel.

Stopped for 2 nights to explore LA

Posted Oct 5, 2016
Location: Not much to do nearby and bit far from buzz of LA
Good base with good restaurants in walking distance. Hotel shuttle to drop you for train into town. Not near centre of town though so train required friendly welcoming reception staff

Enjoyed restaurants and shopping on Ventura Blvd. Shuttle service to Universal was a bonus.

Sportsmen's Lodge

The room was cute and spacious but the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The toilet didn't flush well. The facet in the shower leaked. The walls were very thin. You could here your neighbors and everyone outside at the pool. The hotel wouldn't comp the parking. I got Charged for both days of parking plus taxed on the parking. It wasn't worth the cost.

Nice Studio City Hotel.

Overall, a pretty decent experience. The staff was incredibly accommodating and very prompt with our requests (towels, extra room key, etc.). The room was clean, but we wish the room had a refrigerator and it lacked some furnishings to hang or store clothes. I would recommend this hotel and for the price point, I would stay again.
