Good Location Bad Execution

Posted Aug 4, 2015
The location (close to Downtown LA and especially Santee Ave shopping) was good but the hotel experience was far from acceptable. Staff treated me ok but upon entering the room I was met with the very strong odor of mold and mildew. Also accompanying me were some extra guests in the form of cockroaches and moths, windows were closed. I tried to change rooms but was advised there were none available. Bed was ok sheets and towels clean. Left after 2nd night.

Good price, slept well

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Loved the old building, and the location was perfect for what we needed.
Cons: The only parking was in a $15 paid lot or metered on the street.
Location: We were attending an event at the LA Convention Center, so it was a convenient location.
It had the basics, but I was disappointed in no free parking.

Hotel Stillwell stay

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Reasonable cost. Close to conference. Clean and quiet.
Cons: Coffee in lobby or coffee pot in room.
Location: Grammy museum, convention center nearby. Several restaurants in area. Went to dinner at El Cholo. Nice restaurant. Nearby grocery store for snacks.
About 10 minute walk (5 blocks) to conference. Upscale grocery store, Starbucks, restaurants nearby. Hotel is quiet, clean. Internet and cable TV work well. Staff pleasant and helpful. Neighborhood ok for walking around. I came back about 9 - 9:30 PM. People out walking their dogs. Restaurant with customers seated on patio nearby. Room had small refrigerator and microwave.

It's an ok hotel

Posted Jul 30, 2015
I think it's an ok hotel if ur looking for a one night stay. The room is too small for anything longer n the price is too high for the rooms. Location wise I guess it's ok but like I said I wouldn't only recommend if u only need it for one night.

Close to staple center

It was run down. The staff was rude when we arrived and it smelled of drugs walking into the hotel lobby. It was not worth the money and was very sketchy

Decent staying

It's nothing fancy, but a great location in downtown LA. It was a great place to stay just for one night.

Bathroom was very small. Bed was uncomfortable, room was hot. Only a small airconditioner was in the window and it didn't keep room cool. There is a reason there is no pictures of the rooms on the Web site.

As expected

Posted Jun 22, 2015
This is an old hotel in a downtown area. It has a ton of character. The bathrooms are definitely worn but that's exactly what I expected at a place like this. The staff was friendly and my room was nicely serviced every day. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
