Recommended - with caveats

Posted Sep 29, 2016
Pros: Spacious, comfortable room with fireplace (but So Cal heatwave made using it unnecessary - still a nice touch).
Cons: Breakfast, definitely(!), and grab bars for the tub would be nice.
Location: Nice location in the Canyon Country area. Vasquez Rocks are nearby, and the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood are typically less than an hour away.
Older hotel seems to have been fairly recently updated but needing paint touch-ups, etc. in places. Nice large room with two queen beds, desk and chair (but chair rollers were inoperative). Small kitchenette area with sink, fridge and microwave. Laminate flooring is a nice touch (who knows what vile organisms may lurk in ordinary hotel carpeting). Bathroom sink is in a pleasant area adjacent to the tub and toilet which are in a separate room. Huge bathtub was very nice, my wife enjoyed bathing in it, but the high step over to get into the tub, coupled with a total lack of grab bars made it a bit awkward to enter and exit the tub and could be very challenging to some folks. The tub toilet area was very small, making it necessary to shinny around the side of toilet to close the door. Again, folks with significant girth may not be able to close the door at all. Worst thing was the breakfast area, that only sat four at a counter facing against a wall. Eggo type toaster waffles, a couple of types of cereal, bananas and Hostess-type cinnamon rolls completed the foods, along with a vending-style coffee machine, orange juice and milk. Only ate breakfast there once during our five-day stay. Fortunately an IHOP is only about a mile away. Staff was pleasant and when we needed maintenance (the tub stopper was broken and one light bulb was missing when we arrived) they were quick to take care of the problem. We may stay there again if we are in the Canyon Country area.

Nothing to write home about. It was clean, bed not that comfortable but it worked for the night.

Disappointing

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: The room had no rugs and that was the best thing about the experience.
Cons: They could update the place a bit and make sure their cleaning staff cleans those bathroom tiles.
Property looked unkept and strange people lingering in the hotel and out in the parking lot at all hours of the night.

Convenient

Posted Sep 16, 2016
Pros: Very nice rooms
Cons: The breakfast area was a hallway 😳, not conducive to enjoying your breakfast staring at a wall 12 inches in front of you while folks tried to get by
Location: Location easy to find and the restaurant across the road was excellent
Nice place to stay. Breakfast dining room was very inadequate but the breakfast was good.

Pros: Close to family event venue.
Cons: Room shared a wall with breakfast area. Staff putting breakfast out was very noisy and woke us up before our alarm was set to go off.

Not too bad for a stop over only. They need to fix things that are falling apart

First stop

Had to visit sick family member . Due to Labor day weekend all coastal hotels were very expensive . We found this out of the way hotel resonanly priced., looks old outside but remodeled in side. Staff was very very nice . Room was very clean but bed was very firm. This older body likes a little more padding. All was ok for a night . Down the street and around the corner are restaurants and movies.

The mirror frame was falling off, the tub wasn't cleaned enough. The bed was rock hard.
