Well exceed expectation

We stayed for eight days without a car so about 2 min walk to the metro rail station was absolutely a bonus. Smoking room was not a problem at all as everything smells perfectly fine. Breakfast was basic but good enough to start off the day. Overall, extremely friendly stuff and very clean room!!

Good location, poor customer service!

Pros: The location and in room facilities. Price for the area (Although there is a $200 deposit).
Cons: Customer service.
We chose this hotel because of it's location which is quite close to Universal Studios, Hollywood Walk of Fame and Griffith Park, with reasonable prices for the area when looking for a cheap and cheerful place to stay. The motel itself was quite clean and had WiFi and good facilities in each room, with a nice pool area outside. A basic breakfast was also included. The reason our experience was not as enjoyable was the treatment from the staff. While waiting for the airport shuttle bus in the waiting area (we had an hour wait), we were told we had to leave as it need to be cleaned at midday and no one could enter reception. It was boiling outside and being pregnant I was trying to avoid sitting in the sun for too long, when I asked the receptionist/manager(?) where we could wait, he replied 'Sit by the pool'. I explained that it was too hot and there was no shade and he replied 'I don't care where you sit' and walked off. We ended up sitting on the road outside as we were even told to move from a step near the entrance. Also, when checking in we weren't allowed to bring our luggage into the reception and were told to leave it outside. The hotel entrance is on a main road and this did not seem very safe. Generally the staff were ok, they were just not very accommodating. The cleaning staff were good and cleaned our room daily, however on one of the days they left a pile of dirty laundry in our room...

Location: hollywood, proche des studio universal, le walk of fame
hotel defraichi, sans charme mais fonctionnel, avec un parking gratuit et une piscine. petit déjeuner sommaire, un buffet avec céréales et jus de fruit et café à disposition et des muffins. basique mais rapport qualité-prix intéressant pour hollywood. du basique , pas du rêve américain

we've stayed here three times. always worked out ok. coffee shops within a block.

Not impressed with the smell

We're a family with 2 kids and we're given a smoking room. The smell of the cigarette was all over the room. We had a reservation but we had to park outside the hotel premise because their parking lot was full.

zweckmäßiges, sauberes Hotel in guter Lage

Cons: mehr Platz für das Frühstück
Location: 2 Metro Stationen vom Walk of Fame entfernt, perfekt für einen Hollywood Besuch. Mit der Metro ist auch Downtown LA gut zu erreichen.
Hotel liegt perfekt für einen Besuch von Hollywood und LA Downtown. Die MetroStation liegt in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft. Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber, auch der kleine Pool ist durchaus einladend. Das Frühstück ist eher enttäuschend, insbesondere da es meist im Stehen eingen9ommen werden muss. Ca. 100 Hotelgäste teilen sich maximal 10 Sitzplätze.

Everything that I expected

Pros: Location to the main strip of Hollywood; parking (at no additional cost); clean; comfy
Cons: The tile in the shower could have a good scrub.
Location: Breakfast at Cafe 50's. Then Groundwork Coffee. Then walk to the greatest record store on earth: Amoeba. And a short walk to Stout Burger for lunch.
The hotel met my expectations. It was clean and simple. Although temperatures outside reached 90+, the air conditioning kept the room cool. The flat screen TV was nice and having a fridge was a plus. The location is convenient as well. A short drive from the main strip of Hollywood. (Go to Amoeba!) It's located up the street from a cool 50's style diner that had a pretty decent breakfast. The menu for the restaurant is in the room. (I didn't have the continental breakfast but it looked limited. Just cereal, coffee, and probably fruit/pastries.) The hotel is easy to find, and has a fair amount of parking. Additional parking (for those getting there late or staying out late) is in a gated parking lot next to the hotel. The only hassle is being let into the gated parking lot late at night by the person working in the lobby. I'd stay here again.
