Nothing WOW about this resort but our stay was okay. The entertainment they offered was really with different shows happening each day. Rooms were clean but out-dated. The beach is super clean and the views are stunning.

We have stayed at quite a few all inclusives so have quite a bit to compare it to and we loved this resort. The food was excellent. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Very clean in all areas. Would definitely return and highly recommend!

Horrible food. Rude staff. Don’t stay here if quality is something you’re looking for. When we first arrived they put us and our friends in rooms across the hotel which was at least a 15 min walk. My friend tried to buy $24 sunscreen and they said it didn’t go through but it did on her bank, she showed them and they still didn’t give it to her… Noise complaint at 7pm is CRAZZYY. Barely any room service options, took 45 min to come and nacho cheese was COLD. I was living off my airport goldfish the first day and a half. The champagne at the “Italian” restaurant was disgusting, it had the same after taste as pita chips. I ordered the lasagna and it looked so repulsive I couldn’t even eat it. Our safe kept saying error when we’d input our code so we had to call staff to use a master key to unlock it which took another 45 min. If you plan on leaving the hotel you have to walk 10 min to the front because they don’t let Uber and taxis in. Horrible wifi. All the older people starred at us down. Drinks were watered down. Hot tub felt 2 degrees warmer than the pool. May as well have stayed at the Santa Fe, at least they had events. This place has a pretty aesthetic, but all that was good was the taco stand by the pool, but that even had a hair in it. Nice ocean view but that’s IT.

Heads up about booking through Expedia if you are bringing children to the property. Expedia specifically asks for age of children and calculates the price accordingly. However, the Riu resort informed us that children over the age of 12 are considered as adults, as far as cost is concerned. We also found out later in fine print that is only available AFTER booking, that "guests of any age" are considered to be an adult, which is conflicting information. In our case, Expedia did not translate our booking correctly and booked our teen as a "baby", resulting in an extra charge once we arrived at the resort. Expedia customer service told me that they would refund us the extra amount if we went ahead and paid for it at the front desk, but later sent an email stating that they will no longer issue a refund. Needless to say, we are super disappointed in Expedia's handling of their mistake. The property, however, was excellent! Food and drinks were ok, depending on what you like, but all are plentiful. The Mexican food was great, as well as fresh fruit and good variety of freshly squeezed juices. Service was excellent, with all of the staff going out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Beautiful views and clean facility, with activities for everyone. It's a good value, just beware of booking through Expedia!

All in all a great stay! Excellent staff at all levels. They were kind and helpful, welcoming and fun to talk with. Everything you need is right there but you are not in the hustle of downtown. However, it is close enough if you want a long walk or a short water/land taxi. Food was great, any time of day and my favorite was the 3rd floor bar and cafe with the best views! Our room was basic but clean and everything worked. Best of all, we had the most amazing ocean view which made it a perfect vacation.

The staff was amazing, and the property was good. 2 of the 4 outlets were out if service, door was squeaky, and warped. The rest was super good. The food was amazing as well. Its noisy, and I wish I could say it was spring break, but is was grown *** folks who didnt know how to handle their liquor.

I have been to several all inclusive hotels and this hotel was great! The rooms are spacious and its nice they have the convivence of liquor in the room. The pools are lovely and the views are amazing.

The sea next to the hotel is dangerous year round. It was under a red flag for our whole stay and is never safe for children. Otherwise a lovely resort.

Overall our stay was incredible. I will say out of the Riu resorts in Cabo, this is the one to go to if you want a more relaxed vacation. The other two are very much party scene and loud which may absolutely be the preference for some. Despite being at the Riu Cabo San Lucas, we could hear the music and bass throughout the Riu party nights (located at the Riu Santa Fe). Insulation is non existent so you hear everything in the halls including the excessive drinkers in the early hours. Over all it was a great experience; great food options, the view was amazing, staff was over the top - always incredible service, including our pool waiter Gerardo Stevez who was super attentive and always working his butt off. We always saw staff cleaning - railings, floors, rooftops, Etc., I don’t think I saw a speck of dust during our stay. Highly recommend and would come back!!

We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it!!!! I am a Celiac and there was LOTS of options for me to eat at the buffet. Everything was labeled with all the allergy information!! The only a la Carte we visited was the steak house one and it was amazing! The pools are great, staff are fantastic, delicious drinks, comfy beds, we can’t say one bad thing!

The Riu Palace is beautiful. Most of our sheets, pillow cases and bath towels were stained. The intense pressure to tip for every food or drink you received was tiresome. I think I'd rather pay it ahead of time. Cabo is the most expensive Mexican city we've been to. Bring USA$ not pesos.

Excellent resort in a great location right on the beach, close to CabonSan Lucas. Good choice of restaurants, very little wait times. Although if you go late, say 9. When the restaurant closes at 10 or 10.30, some of the staff have a bit of an attitude and look at their watches, before seating you. Food good and wine decent. Southside elevator was out of order the entire week and there are Lots of stairs to climb. Also booked with Expedia, transfers included, turned out to be untrue, over 180 US in taxis. But a good week over all, btw, bring your own sunscreen, priced at their pool shop are TRIPLE the price back home.

The property is a little dated and it shows in the decor, paint, furnishings, etc. The staff is very nice, friendly, prompt and courteous. The drinks are generous. The buffet for dinner is amazing. The specialty restaurants are not great. The Indian specialty is terrible. The Japanese restaurant has a very long wait. The pools are very clean. Plenty of deck chairs and umbrellas. Great view of the arch from the hotel. We had an ocean view room and it was very quiet at night. I recommend this property.

Very clean in all spaces, although starting to show some real wear and tear in places, but only to be expected with the amount of guests you receive. Elevator on our wing was out of service so it was a LONG haul to the service desk especially with room key cards to decide to randomly deactivate. The pool entertainment staff were the ABSOLUTE BEST! Waiters at the pool were attentive and super nice! I have to say we were underwhelmed by the specialty restaurants, but loved the choices at the buffets and Pedro's by the pool.

There were way too many drunk teens stumbling around and being rude. The activities were poor and aimed towards children. We have stayed here 3-4 times now and the service and activities were terrible. Many activities were the same as previous years. Service around the pool was not there but instead we stood in line forever for a drink along with the drunk teens who ordered several drinks. We should not have to go to Rui Santa Fe for entertainment. We are not sure we will stay at this property again. I was impressed with the fact that teens cannot stay there themselves but it does not appear that is the case anymore.

I have been to the Riu Palace twice now and love the staff except for some front desk staff. I have had two males that were super disrespectful and unfriendly. They try to get you by saying they will upgrade our room, free of charge, but I know what they were doing. They were giving us a room that no one wanted to be in.
