Great resort, will stay again.

Posted Sep 17, 2016
Pros: Not too far from the airport, great spot on the beach to snorkel. Good food options.
Cons: Please add teriyaki and other Japanese dishes that are non-sushi for the sushi restaurant, so that the non raw fish eating guests like me can eat.
Good service, excellent spa! Good food and drink, prefer to have bartenders use top shelf alcohol each time, but asked for it and it was accommodated. Thank you for the golf carts and drivers. Wait staff on point. Enjoyed the party that was planned on 9/15 for Mexican Independence Day! Fabulous Fun!

It was ok.....decent room, decent beach,

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Food was ok, but suppose to be all inclusive except for lobster, and expensive wine. They tried to charge us for titos. Grey goose was fine, but titos is less than grey goose. Then when asked for a manager, an hour later still no manager, no drinks, no food. The waiter said manager was busy.

Hurrican Newton and all the changes from 2014

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: Beautiful setting, great food and service
Cons: Figure out the "all inclusive" set up. Less options, smaller portions and "not included" menus now added. In 2014 it was much better.
Our first visit to FA was back in November 2014, when they just recently changed to an All inclusive (optional). I have to say the difference is very noticeable almost 2 years later. FOOD: The portions got smaller, the choices less abundant, the dinner menus now have sections on the side of "non inclusive" options such as premium steaks, duck or lobster. Peninsula restaurant used to have an amazing authentic mexican breakfast menu, now it's a buffet for breakfast just like Vina Del Mar only smaller. Usually if the hotel is full all inclusive the buffets are HUGE, but FA is something in between still. 2 years ago it felt like a high end resort with exceptional food that is already included in your price. HURRICANE: I have to thank all the staff for working non stop for god knows how many hours to prepare the resort for the hurricane and to clean up the debris after. GROUNDS: This is a beautiful and unique property. It is set on the side of a rocky mountain with gorgeous views. Very clean and well maintained.SERVICE AND DRINKS: Some servers are definitely better than others. So are the bartenders. If you find one that makes the drinks the way you like them, try to go back to the same person. I know I had at least 6 margaritas overall, and they all tasted differently. ENTERTAINMENT: This is not a party place if that's what you want. They have events during the week such as a mexican fiesta night, country night, a dance show. For clubbing, go to downtown Cabo.

Just OK, AC sounds like airplane taking off

Posted Sep 3, 2016
Pros: just ok
Cons: AC, it's loud!!!
When we arrived in Fiesta Americana we were "upgraded" to ocean front villa. Front desk lady told us that it ocean front and really nice room- "not true". It's really far from main building and terrible with little kid. Room is dated and smelled, and AC sounds like freaking airplane taking off. I was unable to sleep, after my daughter fell in sleep at 12:30 AM, I walked to front desk at 1 AM and ask for room change and ready to check out and move to another hotel. In the morning we were moved to another room, and it was little quieter and little newer room. I have been many hotels around the world, and this hotel is not 4 stars, 2 to 2.5 at best, nice pool and decent food choice, but this hotel is terrible for family and someone looking for quiet time away. If you do decided to stay in this hotel stay away from villa, and especially if you do get upgraded to ocean front villa by front desk lady.

Great resort with extremely helpful and nice staff

Posted Aug 31, 2016
We stayed for 3 nights/4 days. Our room was in a building near the edge of the property with an unobstructed view of the ocean. We started off in a studio (room 1109) and upgraded to a one bedroom (room 1110) as it was my birthday. If you can swing the extra money to upgrade, do it. The balcony and spaciousness of the studio was fantastic. The food was good; we ate at the main restaurant and the steakhouse. Breakfast was really nice with a full buffet and taco and omelette stations. The steakhouse was good but don't expect Flammings quality cuts. The bars and restaurants aren't open super late but you can order room service 24 hours, so we took advantage of that as well. The resort offers free entertainment and activities as well. The beach is beautiful but due to the large boulders, there is a strong current and a lot of waves. It's hard to get very far into the water; however, you can wade in a few feet and see hundreds of fish. There are also many pools with beautiful views of the ocean. Overall this was an extremely relaxing and breathtaking resort. I would return again.

Great family vacation at Fiesta Americana

Posted Aug 29, 2016
Cons: Maybe one thing they can improve is evening entertainment. We had a great brazilian show but that was it
We had such a great time in this resort! We are a family of 6: us, grandparents and kids (1 year old and 4 years old). We had a fantastic time.our suite was amazing, the food was great (definitely recommend the argentinian and the italian place; the steak evening at the Peninsula was amazing too). We stayed at the pool all day long with our kids. A big shout out to Edgar and Roberto who were our waiters and went above and beyond to bring food for my kids and drinks for my difficult dad:). Room service took only 5-10 min to bring the warm milk for our baby, cleaning service sometimes would go in twice a day. Also, my baby got sick with a bacterial infection. We left Los Angeles with a viral cold that turned into a bacterial bug. We saw the doctor of the resort and he was amazing. he gave us antibiotics and an anti inflamatory medicine and my baby was back on her feet in no time. My husband is a doctor, we didn't mention it because it wasn't necessary, he went above and beyond. We loved Fiesta Americana.

Our annual anniversary and birthday trip

Posted Aug 16, 2016
The Grand Fiesta Americana was highly recommended to us by several friends who had stayed there earlier this year & we were so happy that we chose this hotel for our celebrations. Overall, we had a fantastic time. we stayed in a master suite so we had use of a "private" pool as well as cafe which had food & drinks from 7am - 11pm so if we were not overly hungry for lunch or wanted a snack, we could go enjoy some quiet time there. The grounds were immaculate & you could tell the employees took pride in keeping it spotless for the guests. I don't think you could go wrong with water views from any room! Food wise, we thought the Mexican, steak house & the Penisnula restaurants were our favorites. While we heard great things about the Italian restaurant, we did not eat there as my husband did not bring slacks & we were told no shorts were allowed. Housekeeping could have been a little more consistent with re-stocking items in our room but when we did ask for items like washcloths, they were given to us immediately. The only downside which was no fault of the hotel was tropical storm Javier hit the area on our 2nd night & they had closed down the restaurants early. We were told box dinners would be delivered to our rooms but we never received anything. But, because we had eaten some light fare at the "private" cafe late that afternoon (fresh ceviche every day was my favorite!!) we were not really hungry for dinner anyways.
