Holiday Celebration in Cabo

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Pros: Location, beach, pools, serivice
Location: Marina within easy walking distance. Shopping. Nightlife.
By far the best location in Cabo. We saw the sunrise in the morning and sun set in the evening. Fantastic walks on the beach, right out our front door - walking distance to Marina and town. Great food! Staff was always prompt to help with anything!

Beautiful Location, mediocre service

Posted Nov 4, 2016
Pros: beautiful. good location
Cons: music at one pool, better food/service
Location: you can walk to town but I dont recommend it. pretty far and super hot out. we did it once and never again!
Check-in was great; they upgraded our room for our anniversary (room was huge). Gorgeous views, lovely pools, although they should at least have 1 pool with some type of background music playing. I am almost 40 and not into loud or obnoxious partying, but complete silence in every location was a little boring. We ended up going to other resorts to swim. There were nice guests but also unfriendly ones who looked at us weird when we said 'hello' in passing... We were hanging out at an empty pool and sat on a cabana and asked the waitress if it was okay. She said it was okay as long as we spent x amount of money (which is fine, and we did), however, a little later a man came by to kind of 'scold' us, stating that advance reservations were required for the cabana. He was polite about it, but the pool was empty and the cabana was empty and we asked permission and had met the monetary requirement per the first staff member. We were travelling with a gay couple and I almost wonder if some of the 'shade' we received had to do more with them. Service and food at the restaurants were horrible. I was so glad we didnt do the all inclusive. The timeshare sharks were all over the place. They didn't push us (we were approached 2x), but even seeing them walk other people around with their sales pitch kind of killed the vacation vibe. Overall, the place was lovely, but if I go back I will probably stay somewhere with a happier/more chill/vacation-y attitude..

Beautiful Resort would go back again and again!

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Beautiful and quiet resort, never felt crowded and always plenty of chairs at the pool even when we went down in the late afternoon. Room was cleaned daily and they always did a top notch job. Food was good. Sushi was Great. LaRoca was Fabulous and service was impeccable, I highly recommend for dinner and we ate there twice the week we were there. Walk to town was very comfortable and we did this daily. Only downfall was not being able to go in "or near" the ocean. In Oct the waves and undertow were very strong so even walking the beach was not recommended by the water. Our time share presentation was scheduled the morning after we flew in and we had not even had time to see the resort. They push you pretty hard and we declined (feeling very pressured to make a decision on a resort we had not even been at for 24 hours) but both agreed if we had stayed in the resort even a few days before meeting with them they probably would have sold us!!!

Great location..nice and quiet

Posted Sep 18, 2016
The hotel location near lands end is breath taking. The last hurricane did some minor damage but nothing that affects the stay. Staff is friendly and the new sports bar is a great addition.Favorite spot is the pool for a relaxing get away and met some very nice people.

Dear Nancy and Fred We are delighted to know that you have a fantastic experience at our resort and that you acknowledge the service of the staff and the amazing work they did after the hurricane hits Cabo. In less thatn one day everything was back to normal, and it was because of them. We feel very proud of our ambassadors of service. At the end, they just want to pamper our guest like they deserve. Thank you for sharing your experience. We would be honor to welcome you back in the near future.

Best in Cabo

Posted Sep 9, 2016
Pros: Everything
The Grand Solmar was the best resort if you like the best location (5 minute walk from the Cabo San Lucas Marina and a few hundred yards from land's end), the best relaxation (with plenty of swimming pools and spa facilities), a very quiet atmosphere (secure location not easily accessible to outsiders) and really great food and drinks. The staff (from the front desk, to maids, to food service personnel and even to maintenance/facilities personnel) was exceptionally friendly and helpful. If you want comfort and rest in a magnificent setting (right on the beach), this place cannot be beat!

Excellent Cabo Hotel

Posted Sep 6, 2016
Pros: Very clean, very modern, large rooms
Cons: I think this is more of a Mexian thing, but they control every little movement. Very rigid. Made it difficult to walk on the beach. Had to sign a for
Location: Not all that much, lots of souvenir shops and hawking in town. Some great restaurants however. All expensive which is a little surprising since this
This is a very modern, very clean hotel. There are multiple pools and places to eat. The rooms are very spacious and all have balaconies that look out to the see.

Staff and service are terribly lacking!

Horrible service at the pool, the bar and pretty much with the staff. Will not go back and I've owned with Playa Grande for over 12 years. This stay was to possibly upgrade to the Gr Solmar - no thanks!

No lo recomiendo

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Pros: nada

Atentamente,

Pros: 5 star accommodations with 5 star service. Family friendly. We had our 14 year old with us.
Cons: nothing
Location: Beautiful resort sitting next to the ocean. My wife swam with the dolphins and she loved it. We also did the adventure snorkel tour and we enjoyed it
This is a 5 star resort that's walking distance to the marina and a $12.00 cab ride to the inner city. We were concerned about being on the Pacific ocean which has very strong waves. This concern turned into a luxury. You can sit in the pool looking over the negative edge with the Pacific ocean in the background, very beautiful! The pool had a swim up bar and restaurant. If you want to go to the Sea of Cortez to swim you can take a water taxi to a beach and be there in 10 minutes. The views are spectacular! Food was very good but expensive. The Marina has several restaurants and shops. Average price per plate at the marina or in town was $12.00 plus drinks. As soon as you get off the plane the locals will be trying to sell you adventure packages. They are less expensive than the resort. We waited for a day to learn the type of packages than negotiated once we learned the cost. You will get a better price if you agree to spend 3 hours going through a time share presentation. We paid more and opted out of any presentation because this was a vacation, not a business deal!
