The property was well maintained and beautiful. The location is terrific with the ocean in clear view. We saw many whales moving just offshore from our room. The Staff, for the most part, were professional and helpful. The entire staff working at the upper, smaller restaurant were great. Our Housekeeper, Suzanna was wonderful. Mara, working in reception, while admittedly, doing her job, was pushy and almost rude in the manner she hawked trips, time shares and extra add-on activities. She could tone that back a little.
Cost of meals was not inexpensive but did compare to what we paid downtown. $6.50 for a beer at the Restaurants, when the same thing cost $1.00 in stores, was a bit absurd. One can easily spend $100.00 a day on just meals, without alcohol, at the resort.
The economy is a mess, inflation rages and the dollar is not strong against the peso. All of these factors translate to an expensive vacation anywhere one travels in Mexico.
