Great location. Very Scenic.

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: Small but very charming easy to walk around. Good food but need more variety. Should have share privileges with Grand Solmar, not Playa Grande.
Cons: More accommodation options. Need more sleep options such as full or double beds instead of sofa sleepers. Also need more nightlife.
Location: Great location near marina and shopping.
The hotel was great until the spring breakers arrived. They took over the whole pool area and were very annoying. They were in a room next to us and very loud. Thank god we were leaving the next day or would have changed rooms. Also not much to do at night unless you went to town. They should have a bar where you can listen to music and have an after dinner drink. Everything closes up so early. Too quiet. Wish the beach was easier to walk on.

An older resort type hotel...

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: The staff was friendly ...
Cons: Back off on the property sales push at check in
Location: A long walk into town and ridiculous taxi fares
The room had lots of anomalies .... the one-way privacy glass to the bathroom was backwards - you could see in from the bedroom but not out. Weird. The TV was up too high for comfortable viewing and the reception was dismal. The safe was at the bottom of the closet so you had to get on your hands and knees to enter the codes. The bedroom was flooded with light each morning from the bathroom window.... no way to black out. The big detractor was having to pay for WIFI. At $330 a night room rate, you need to provide the WIFI.

Very exclusive hotel near the water.

Posted Mar 12, 2017
Pros: Very beautiful and pretty location. Tight security. Taxis arrived pretty frequently. Comfortable beds. Large shower. Decent services.
Cons: Wifi situation could have been better for the price. Restaurants and places open past 10 pm for those who don't want to taxi somewhere to get food.
Location: Near the ocean, like you can literally see it from most areas of the hotel. Tacos Goose was the closest and cheapest tacos.
I went with a group of four and stayed in a suite with a sofa bed and a king bed. Upon arrival we found that there were rotten, chocolate-covered strawberries in almost all of the kitchen pots and cups from a recent customer. Because of the language barrier it was nearly impossible to get the situation resolved. Wifi only works for two devices at a time per room, regardless of the number of guests. Was notified that our room was to be fumigated for pests almost as soon as we arrived, even though we had food lying around that we were to eat afterwards. After landing late in Cabo, we arrived at our hotel at 10pm to find that there was no restaurant open anymore. Really intense security so don't even try bringing people in.

Dear Casey; Thank you for taking your time to share your comments. Once again, I offer my apologies for that atypical cleaning issue you refer, I know any complimentary amenity as your welcome bar could not erase such experience but it was a way to apology a little bit. Certainly, for your own security the access to non-registered guests is restricted specially to our guest´s suites, I am sorry if this policy was an inconvenience for you. Thank you very much for the positives. I have shared your review with the rest of my team to work hard and handled things differently in the future to exceed your expectations. Respectfully Luis Alvarez GM

Good for the price but still not a "bargain"

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Hotel was just ok. The grounds are just lovely and always very well maintained. The location on solmar beach is great but the hotel is obviously old and dated. The room was clean but the bathroom was terrible, drain smelled every time the toilet was flushed and the water in the shower did not drain properly so i took a shower in a half foot of water every day. No towels at the pool which was odd so always had to rely on maid service for new towels. You needed a ladder to get into the bed and the pillows were terrible, if you can even call a flat little 1 ft by 1ft piece of foam a pillow. We only ate there once, was for breakfast, the service was very slow, food was average at best and three times the price we were paying for breakfast at the beach restaurants. I guess you get what you pay for as this is a lower priced hotel compared to others but its by no means cheap and still expect a little more in terms of service and amenities. Seems they only care about the guests who stay at Grand Solmar but not solmar.

Dear Sir. /Madam; I thank you for taking your valuable time to share your experience. For your convenience, our housekeeper places pool towels on your suite and change them as many times you need. Our beds are wide due to the brand-new mattresses installed and pillows are the standard ones; softer or harder available upon request. Thank you very much for the positives about our secluded location and our grounds. I have shared your comments with the rest of my team to handled things differently in the future. We would love to have a new opportunity to welcome you and do everything possible to change your point of view about us. Kind regards! Luis Alvarez General manager

Price, value, location and staff.

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Pros: Price, food, staff and location.
Cons: Curtains (I like complete darkness).
Location: Very near to lots of stuff to do in Cabo San Lucas (nightlife, Marina, lovers beach, bay, restaurants)
Location is great, you can walk to the Marina or one of the beaches at the bay. Swimming in front of the hotel is not advisable (definitely not for snorkelling). We are a young couple so we even managed to climb the rocks at the end of the beach to reach "lovers beach" (that was a nice experience). We paid for the "all inclusive" which was a good idea because food at the hotel is good but expensive (not buffet). Around $80 per meal (for two). I never really care too much for a hotel service but this one really stands out, it is a-ma-zing! Everyone is just really really friendly, helpful, smiley, pleasant, etc. I've never been in a better hotel in this aspect. We also rented a car so we could go every day to a different beach. I believe the hotel is not that nice to stay the whole day in it. If you stay here you can also go to Playa Grande hotel (better facilities but does not include the all inclusive package). Would definitely recommend it and would stay here again. If you plan to stay the whole day at the hotel maybe it's not the best option, but there is so much to visit in Cabo that you should try move around.

Pros: Great pool area and great sushi bar!!
Cons: Items like Jack Daniels are considered "premium" beverages and are not included with package. You have to sign a check for every oder.
This is a good resort if you're not doing all inclusive. If you are doing all-inclusive I would recommend somewhere else only for the fact that you have to sign multiple copies of a check every time you order something. I understand that since the whole resort is not all-inclusive some people are paying as they go but for those that are all inclusive they shouldn't have to sign anything.

Probably this best location in Cabol

Posted Feb 27, 2017
Pros: Location, excellent friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms need renovation.
Located on the tip of the Cabo Peninsular, Marina one side, pacific the other. Great Beach with the famous Cabo rocks at one end leading to Lovers Beach and the Arch. Hotel has superb outlook, but rooms are dated in the 1980's and need full renovation to do the place justice. Having said that, it was excellent value for the price I paid.
