Great location and vibe

Posted Jan 14, 2017
I was very glad we did the Estrancia for a few reasons. #1. Nice safe beach walk to the big hotels by the arch, Downtown Cabo, and marina. #2 many folks here own the property so there is a low key vibe mixed with good pool scene. #3 great staff who do seem to genuinely care about customer service. My wife and I had done Cancun before and had almost written off Mexico...glad we tried Cabo and we'll likely go back!

We're delighted that Tequila dreams reports having such a great time at the resort, and look forward to welcoming him/her back in the near future.

Great hotel! Close, but not too close!

Posted Jan 2, 2017
Our family loved this hotel. We had a one bedroom villa that was clean, cozy, with lots of room! The food at the hotel was delicious as were the restaurants at the sister resorts next door. The pools and hot tubs were gorgeous and who doesn't love a swim up bar! The Estancia Margarita was DELICIOUS! I was asked once if I would be interested in taking part in a time share sales pitch, offered some nice deals in exchange for my time, but once I let them know I was not interested it never came up again. It is Mexico, and there are numerous vendors on the beach which can be visually a bit annoying, but they were harmless. The hotel is the perfect distance from the craziness of Cabos, but an easy walk down the beach to it and access to town! The views are wonderful, the water was gorgeous, the waves a blast! It was a great blend of folks, all age ranges, but didn't feel too crowded or overrun with kids and I was with two of them. We will definitely go back!

residential villa close to the beach

Posted Dec 27, 2016
Should not be called hotel. It is actually residential properties with no basic amenities like internet even through it advertised as free internet. The food can be ordered only during certain time of the day. Not a very convenient vacation place to stay. Over priced. Paid over $1000USD for two nights and nothing was included as part of this deal. There are better options. Really question value for money.

Unfortunately, there is misinformation in Maddy's review that needs to be addressed. The resort indeeds features two full-service restaurants, La Casona and La Parrilla, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks as well as service around the pool, on the beach and room service. WiFi is also available without charge. We regret that Maddy did not enjoy her stay at Villa La Estancia.

Great hotel Amazing service Only had issues with one of their front desk staff who kept making up different stories and not being upfront with us. I brought it up to the hotel manager who was more than helpful and he went above and beyond to make it up. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Location is great; Misleading Special Offers

Posted Dec 21, 2016
Pros: Proximity to the town and the nice beach at the property. Dining on property was good too.
Cons: Not including specials that really aren't added enticements such as a coupon book.
Location: beach, marina, walking distance to the well known Cabo restaurants.
The location is ideal if you want to walk to town/restaurants/marina without needing a cab. Beach is nice and pool is great. Offer was advertised as including "$xxx in Resort Credit" and this turned out to be just a coupon book with savings that amounted to $xxx. Talked to hotel management and also called Expedia Cust Service while there to report this misrepresentation and was told that a coupon book "IS" resort credit. NOT! They clearly hook you in the deal with this (as it influenced our final decision on a property) and it is no different than the coupon books and deals that are handed out freely at the airport. The property is great and we enjoyed it but felt very taken when we expected a resort credit upon arrival and instead got a coupon book. They also emailed us about "Another Deal" to upgrade our room days before our trip that would cost more but didn't include the resort "credit" so we stayed with what we thought was a great deal and were definitely shocked to find out there wasn't a deal. When a hotel advertises a hotel credit, or free breakfast, free wifi, etc., those enticements influence your decision.

We are pleased that the reviewer enjoyed her stay and the resort in general. Unfortunately, there appears to have been confusion about a promotional offer on this occasion, which we regret.

Upscale close to town

Posted Dec 3, 2016
Pros: SPACIOUS ROOMS, VIEWS, LOCATION, NICE BEACH AREA
Cons: OCEAN FRONT DINING
Location: TOWN IS WALKABLE OR A 5-10 MIN CAB RIDE. WATER TAXIS TO ARC, BEACH IS HARD TO WALK AS THE SAND IS QUITE COARSE
SECOND VISIT, ALWAYS VERY PLEASED. ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS, STAFF IS FRIENDLY, VERY CLEAN, LOCATION TO TOWN IS GREAT. RESTAURANTS ARE GOOD BUT WISH THEY WERE OCEAN VIEW.

The reviewer is reminded that Villa La Estancia is part of a 3-property complex that indeed features 4 ocean-front dining options. We appreciate her kind comments.

you can find better room in this Hotel

Posted Nov 16, 2016
Pros: The Hotel is Great
Cons: Well located, good pools, great staff....
The Hotel is Great and Although this room has a view of the ocean, it is located next to a wall of other rooms facing to your patio, the room is part of the larger Condo, and they just separated the patio by plants, provided two chairs and a table big enough to put one plate on it. There were no amenities for coffee, there were no glasses or anything to open a bottle of wine. I would not stay there again. There are much better facilities for that price.

We sincerely regret that we were apparently unable to provide Anton with the experience that he was expecting on this particular visit. There are a variety of accommodations available at Villa La Estancia, through different booking channels including Expedia.

Great Vacation!

Posted Nov 16, 2016
Loved the resort and the two sister properties. Food was good and the service was phenomenal. I especially loved the food in Neptune and Bernardo our breakfast server at La Casona. We ate there every day and Bernardo and his co-workers really went above and beyond. Only two complaints. I don't mind walking, so it seemed silly to take the trolley. But there is no good way to cut between the resorts. I get the safety aspect, but putting a keyed gate between pools would be nice. My other complaint is that Cabo is so far from our home in NJ! If it was closer we would go back every year.

We thank jennifer m for her kind assessment of Villa La Estancia, and remind travelers that there is gated access to both Villa del Arco and Villa del Palmar for the convenience of those staying at Estancia, which is private.

Wonderful Hotel and Spa!

Posted Nov 9, 2016
Pros: The hotel staff was very nice and went above and beyond for my sister's 50th birthday. They left happy birthday notes on her bed, a towel wrapped birthday cake with candles and more, they just made it extra special. Plus, everything about the hotel is very nice and beautiful.
Cons: There is only one access between the 3 resorts. You have to walk up towards the lobbies to cross over to each one, it would be nice if there were a few more access gates maybe near the pool.
Location: We took a boat to lands end, went on a cabo adventures biking excursion, jogged downtown. The harbor is a short walk for restaurants and drinks.

While we appreciate Julia's passion for Villa La Estancia, it's important to point out the gated access that is available to resort guests who would like to dine at our sister resorts. There are two gates, on to Villa del Palmar and one to Villa del Arco.
