bourbon friendly

Pros: location, location, location! it was a very nice stay and got us close to everything we wanted.
Cons: the cafe on the 3rd floor is slow as molasses in the morning
Location: Bourbon tours, of course! there is also the Louisville Slugger Museum, the river is beautiful to walk along. The food is amazing in Louisville!
this hotel is everything a hotel should be. staff is courteous, facilities clean, room was comfortable, housekeeping was efficient & friendly, AND we took the Mint Julep Tour right from this hotel!

Weekend stay

My family really enjoyed themselves this past weekend. The hotel was centrally located to everything we planned to do. Our room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back.

Close to river.

Not a bad hotel. High end older style hotel. Very large hotel and no direction is given. You can get lost! Not much seems to have been updated over the years. Can get more for your money with easier parking just few miles away. I wouldn't stay here again but it isn't a bad place at all. It's just not convenient, dated rooms and noisy. You will pay for everything you get. No breakfast included or even parking. You pay for it all. Again not bad, just not my cup of tea sort of speak. I feel there are nicer, cleaner hotels just down the road I have stayed in, while in Louisville and better priced.

Hotel adjacent to Yum center

Great hotel that overlooks the river and is connected to the KFC yum center. Had a great overnight stay here. Free parking, great room overlooking the river. Went to a concert and was thrilled to find it was all connected to the hotel. Check in was surprisingly very fast considering the hoards of people in line-waited all of 3 minutes. Would go back.

Right in the heart of downtown

Great place to stay in downtown Louisville. Close to the river walk very convenient to walk to everything that downtown has to offer.

Galt House

Pros: Location, view, parking was included
Cons: customer service, room service price, room presentation and maintenance
Location: Almost anything downtown is within walking distance. We visited Louisville slugger museum which was really great.
Location and the view from the balcony in our room was the only thing this hotel had going for it. Beyond that the room was in need of serious refreshing, from carpets to paint. We reserved a two room suite with a balcony. The room was supposed to be two queen beds, it was two double beds and the front desk swore they were queens. I pre-requested a crib for our one year old and received confirmation of that request. The crib was not in the room upon check in (it was late and we wanted to put the child to sleep). After asking the front desk for one and was told he would request it right away, we waited an hour before I called and was told the request was never submitted. It did arrive shortly after that. The second room in the suite was barely furnished with a couch that a college kid would be embarrassed by and a tiny TV, an armchair, coffee table and a card table with two chairs. This was a huge room and should have been set up appropriately and not with furniture that may as well come from the curb. Room service is also ridiculously overpriced, mark up is expected, but at least give an ample amount of food. Also there was an additional delivery fee for the room service!! ITS ROOM SERVICE OF COURSE IT IS DELIVERED!! Why would you add that to an already exorbitant cost of goods, at least don't advertise it and add insult to injury.

False advertising!

The photos of the hotel were much nicer than reality. Everything was shabby, the lobby smelled like sewage, and the room was only somewhat clean and in a state of disrepair.
