Seemed like a nice area but when you pull in an park you see signs saying do not leave any valuables in your car they are not responsible. When you walk to the main front door there is a card reader and note saying door is lock dusk to dawn which is not normal for a front entrance. When I checked in and look at the door from the inside, there is a sign saying do not open the door for someone you do not know. Now that was defiantly not normal and a good felling. Check seemed fine, went to my room and went to dead bolt the door but it would not locked, Tried pushing it in tighter and pulling it out thinking it was just not aligned properly but would not lock. Room was not remodeled as describe by expedia. Second room they put me in smelled like smoke terribly. Defiantly would not recommend, this is the second time I used exedia to book a room and had and issue. I will not use them again since you have no recourse for issues at a hotel. Lastly at check out the front desk smelled also like smoke terribly like the lady had just come back in from smoking. I would not recommend at all, very suppressed by the reviews I had seen about this hotel

We're disheartened you did not have a more positive experience and are sorry you did not feel safe in the area. The eastend of Louisville is a very safe, upscale area of town, with plenty of fine dining and shopping on our exit. The parking lot signs reminind guests to lock their cars and remove valuables is standard liability signage (you can find similar signs in parking garages, shopping mall parking lots, etc.) Rest assured that the safety and security of our guests is our number#1 priority and we shut our front door at dark. Guests can gain access using their key card or using the house phone by the door for the Front Desk agent to ring them in. We apologize that the deadbolt did not seem to be working on the first room you checked into and have alerted our Maintenance Engineer to have this corrected. We are sorry for any odors you may have encountered. Our hotel is 100% smoke free and there should be no odors anywhere in the hotel. All our rooms were completely remodeled roughly two years ago with all new carpeting, new lighting fixtures, newTV's, new phone system, new bathroom fixtures, new kitchen cabinets, new granite counter tops, and new paint, and new decor. We're also continually freshening up the property to keep it sparking. We hope you decide to give us another chance and come see us again.
