    People at the front desk and at the valet were outstanding. Room was lovely but I could tell that some of the wallpaper was starting to come loose. We only got one robe when there were two people staying there--not sure why. We had to reschedule our stay due to an illness and they were very accommodating and lovely about it.

    Top Notch in Louisville

    We relocated to the Brown after finding a different downtown hotel was understaffed for the holidays. We took advantage of the club room option (card/elevator security and 24/7 access to a club lounge with fruit and drinks; also serves snacks during happy hour and breakfast at early hours). We ate in the English Grill and J. Graham Cafe and found both full of foodie options. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially the workers at the bellstand and gift shop. The one real area that could use improvement is the tubs. Ours on the 13th floor had a peeling lining from where it had been reglazed not in recent history - pieces of the loose glazing would float in the bath, so I wouldn't recommend it for families traveling with children especially. However I'm not deducting star points for this as it's not the fault of the staff and isn't an overall safety hazard, just one of the sorts of things that a hotel of this age needs to keep an eye on updating more regularly. In any case we did find the staff quickly responsive if we had a need arise, which is more than I can say for the other hotel where we were originally booked. The Brown is also convenient to the airport and major freeways. We did find that room service, though offered 24/7, was erroneously routed to the cafe that's only open until the early afternoon, so if you want a treat for dinner or dessert you'll need to call reception directly to reroute the call or take your order and pass it on.

    Not as nice as I expected.

    We stayed here because it was just minutes from a concert venue, which was great. We were in an upgraded Deluxe room. It was nice, but nothing spectacular, chocolates on the bed, a jar of mints, a few extra welcoming things. The floor we were on was quite. That all changed. Our room's HVAC was not working - blowing 77 degree air at all times, it was hot. Had to call several times to the front desk, no one answered on several occasions. We had to change rooms, it was not as nice as the one we were in. If we had to move, shouldn't we get the same or better? A different floor - noisy, could clearly hear "bed banging", talking, bathroom sounds, no mints, no chocolates. I'll only stay again if we need a place within walking distance to our next concert.
