The sculpture outside of Garage Bar by artist Jonathan Schipper. The sculpture, a machine that advances two full sized automobiles slowly into one another over a period of time, simulates a head on automobile collision. Each car moves slowly and almost imperceptibly toward the other towards an inevitable collision. Toured the factory and museum for a glimpse of baseball history. Made even this baseball mom a fan. A pair of industrial strength ping pong tables with bases made from compacted cars! I ordered the KY Side Kale Salad & Wild Mushroom Taco ... Checked into Yelp & got a free Dessert, Churros :))) The salad was soooo delicious and so was the taco. Ambiance a bit loud though fun. This mirror is only one of them. It dhows the reflection of the person multiple times, and this is only the introduction of the fantastic museum. Louisville Slugger museum! History in your hands. totally fun. This was my Root Beer BBQ Chicken wings. They were the biggest wings I've ever had in my life. I couldn't even finish them. I got to try a sample of their sauces before picking because I wasn't sure about the root beer one and a few others. This flavour was so unique that first you tasted the root beer than the second hit was a smooth undertone of smokey BBQ. Best sauce I've ever had. Unfortunately they don't sell it boo! Hiss!
Helped celebrate the Belle of Louisville's 100th birthday with a cruise up the Ohio River. Louisville Kentucky
One of the best horse tracks. Even if you don't like to bet on the Horse- people watching will keep you busy. Another perspective of this gigantic bat. Laying on the ground looking up made it seem as tall as the CN Tower. What's a little dirt right! Great skirt steak with chimichurri sauce at Seviche. Don't miss the calamari appetizer! Neighborhood block party Great bourbon bar No photo will ever be able to accurately capture this place. From the outside, it looks like a sketchy liquor store. But you walk and are greeted by a bar with dozens of taps and stacks of glasses, and refrigerators of all sorts of beers lining the walls. Then you follow the hallway back and it opens into a seated dining area with heaps of more fridges!! And a final back hallway! Amazing! Cool day trip. Pork Skin Nachos at Guy's Smokehouse in Louiseville Full moon made for a nice walk At the Louisville Slugger Museum, this bat towers over the museum and most of the surrounding trees. You can stand under it and it will appear as if it is about to fall top of you. Derby Day in Louisville, KY The Arnold Palmer bourbon slushie at Feast is fantastic. Plus amazing barbeque and top notch sides- I'd recommend the mac n cheese.
And there are buffalo heads and string lights everywhere! Naughty little deer from the collection of Museum 21c The name says it all .... It's a dive!! But there are some interesting options on draft, and of course they still have bottles options. Darts are free and there's also a pool table. And chalk writing all over the walls! Pretty solid BBQ! Also microbrew with decent selection. After a day of bourbon drinking, we wanted food and this place hit the spot! Falls of the Ohio, awesome spot right by Downtown Louisville ... Louisville is a river town and one of the popular hangouts to watch the sun set over the Ohio River is Captains Quarters Nice little restaurant inside one of the hotels right on Fourth Street Live. Made with Weisenberger Stone Mill Grits, peppers, onion, shrimp and smoking good andouille sausage. #FoodieFinds Sunset at the Falls of the Ohio State Park The Big Four Walking Bridge is a converted Railroad Bridge built in 1928 If you're a craft beer nut like me, Against the Grain is an awesome spot in Louisville. Throw in some excellent BBQ, too -- The pork belly was some of the best I've ever had. Phenomenal beer, great food. This was my husbands smoked Gator sausage. I told him that I didn't care how pretty they decorated it (with editable flowers) I'm still not eating it haha! This bar and music venue is for whiskey lovers. Such a beautiful steamboat! Walking The Big Four Bridge with Great Views Ate here for dinner last night mainly because you can smell it a mile away and immediately your stomach will guide you. Resistance is futile and they won't let you down. Best restaurant I've eaten at in a crazy long time.
They smoke their own meats, last night I had Root Beer Chicken wings which were amazing!!! My husband had the gator (uploading shortly) and they also brew their own beers such as Applewood Smoked Bacon Beer and Oyster Beer and other cool flavours.
They have an in house chef and so the food is spectacular! Can't give it a high enough rating. Fun drinks and Baja atmosphere at El Camino on Bardstown Road Nord's Bakery has the best donuts and alligator pastries! An enormous gold statue we came across down the street from the slugger museum. Seemed really out of place actually. It was almost as tall as the 4 storey building it was in front of. Cozy breakfast at Wiltshire Pantry right near downtown with tasty pastries and pretty fruit Cute Gastropub in downtown Louisville. The Burger had a pickled tomator on the bottom, I could have eaten a whole plate of those! #FoodieFinds A store next to the Slugger museum...way to use your resources :) Slugger Museum. Outside. The actual museum is interesting even if you're not a fan. Famous #BloodyMary #TheOutlookInn :~) Big ole bat It was closed by the time I got there but took some photos and peeped through the window. They still make bats here and in front of the building they have several monuments in memory of some of the greats like Babe Ruth. I wish it was open because I would have loved to take a tour through this place. It looks like there was paid parking meters across the street that you could pay online using a city parking meter app. Pretty modern wtg! Remembering #MuhammadAli ....
Shilouette of the statue at the entrance to the park on a gloomy day. Fourth Street live is packed with good bars and restaurants. Col Sanders gravesite is at this cemetery, along with some other important people Several area locations of this bar and grille with happy hour, late night, comfort food and vintage wines in a hip area of town. Just across the bridge from Louisville, KY, visit this interpretive center to talk to rangers. There is a charge to see film, exhibits, museum, but free to walk the grounds and the fossil beds. Walk the grounds or go fishing along the Ohio River and see fossil beds in season when water level is low enough, with nice view of the Clark Memorial bridge. You can also take Belle of Louisville river boat ride starting across the river. Great Southern food and beer hall in rustic ambience with indoor seating and outdoor family style picnic tables with view of people walking by this hip part of town. Walk in this hip part of town on Bardstown Street, voted best street in Louisville, with many shops, bars, cafes like this good Italian pizza, pasta and sandwiches.
