Whisper something that can be heard clearly on the other side of a room. Discover the world of nanoscience with its miniaturized tools and aids that are providing breakthroughs in fields such as health and agriculture. Learn about endangered polar bears and efforts to protect them and view an authentic mummy that has been in Kentucky since 1904, but dates back to the 7th century B.C. in Egypt.
Proceed to the third floor, which is dedicated to people and explores how we grow, develop and biologically adapt to our surroundings. Marvel about your body as a scientific wonder. Included in admission is a viewing at the center’s digital theater with its four-story-tall screen that shows astounding movies with scientific themes.
After beginning as a cabinet of curiosities in 1871 in the basement of Louisville’s public library, the Kentucky Science Center is now located in its own building near central Louisville on Museum Row. Find parking at the rear of the building. Purchase tickets at the center or online. Bring your curiosity to learn and discover scientific matters. The center is open daily and is accessible for those with disabilities.
