The WiFi service was not working well at all, and the room we stayed in had a water leak from the above unit, switch force us to move to a other room. It end so bad.

Dated hotel needs a deep clean

Pros: Pool was nice, large and not overcrowded. the one part of the resort that had a fresh clean feeling.
Cons: much could be improved. but focus on picking up the trash and sweeping the room floors.
Sadly, the Magdalena Grand did not live up to expectations, or it's 3 star rating. Entire northern half of resort was vacant, doesn't look like they rent those rooms out any more. So that half was overgrown, poorly maintained, with a large amount of trash along the walkway and in the common outdoor areas. The rooms were also not up to standard: dirty floors that our feet stuck to, empty fridges, malfunctioning faucets, and no drinking water when we arrived in the room, not even a single bottle. Oh, and they charge $2 US for a 500ml bottle of Tobago water. Not worth the money, try a competitor or an airbnb instead.

One night stay

I stayed one night the resort it is lovely but the rooms need to be upgraded The bath tub was brown not from dirt from age . Everything about the room was old The breakfast was good and the people were nice.

Overall pleased with everything . Highly impressed with the food and pool. Not so impressed with the overall cleanliness of the compound especially outside the rooms

Disappointing hotel, staff and facilities

This hotel is advertised as a four star and apparently one of the best on the island but it was such a dissapointment. From the moment we got there we could see the old facade, mold on the walls and the roof leaking in several places from the rain. It was dangerous to walk around as there was water on the floors in several places. Once we got to our rooms, we could see it had been cleaned but still looked dirty because of the stains in the toilet and bathroom. It had a foul smell and over the next few days had quick showers and used the bathroom quickly so as not to spend too long in there. The bedroom itself was ok and clean although every old. We had a rest and went to the restaurant to get lunch at 2.45 pm and were told immediately by the restaurant staff that they have closed the kitchen and stopped serving from the restaurant menu even though there was still 15 mins before they close. It was very apparent they didnt want to be there and didn’t care about clients. We tried to get coffee and were told to go downstairs and back upstairs 3 times by different staff before they could figure out between themselves. There were no staff at any of the two bars by the pool any of the days we were there. Overall it was a disspointing, overpriced stay for a hotel that is more a 2 Star than a four. Do not spend your money for this sub par hotel and service. Expedia should not be marketing this as a 4 Star.

Wonderful stay

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here at Magdalena. We will be coming here every year from now on. Breakfast was amazing. Only issue was dinner was really bad. We won't eat dinner here again but that's ok because the hotel and staff was really great. Kachief who was working at the bar made us very welocomed and comfortable. He was a great host. Overall the was an great time.

Beautiful grounds and amazing service

I arrived at this hotel shortly after booking on Expedia. Our booking wasn't on their system as yet given the timeframe but we were greeted with smiles and a welcome drink of rum punch while we waited! Throughout our stay we were consistently surprised by the level of kindness and hospitality displayed by ALL staff members. Any issues or questions we had were promptly addressed. Kudos to the manager of guest services because she not only gave us a courtesy call to make sure everything was alright but she personally delivered ice to our room when we queried the ice machine's location. The breakfast buffet IS AMAZING and delicious. Definitely something to look forward to! My favorite was the fresh fruit selection and the cold cereal choices! I love it here and can't wait for my next stay! PS Try the Robinson Crusoe pub on a Friday night! Great live entertainment!

Nice location/Poorly managed hotel

- No hand towels available - Buffet lunch was rice peas chicken/fish salad for TT200+ - Other meals were fair-ok - Staff need tourism and hospitality training - No portable card machines at bars - The entire property needs an upgrade - Room service was unresponsive and almost unreachable

Wonderful holiday experience

Pros: The flexibility of the hotel, e.g offering complementary upgrades and drinks etc rooms stylish ,being near the sea and mostly welcoming staff
Cons: Beach area could be cleaned more often and purposely built shopping area and more outdoor activities available for guest who wish to remain onsite.
Location: Taxi service is available at all times for local amenities. Plus the hotel provide free of cost shuttle to and from the local beach.
Hotel manager at the time we checked in was very accommodating, which helped make our holiday relaxing and memorable one.
