Nice hotel! Will definitely stay there again. Loved that there was a Ten Commandment Monument at front entrance.

Nice hotel close the Texas Tech University

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Location and the breakfast buffet.
Cons: I think that the egg station needs to offer egg beaters or egg whites to accommodate patrons with dietary restrictions.
Location: The location was convenient to Texas Tech University and reasonably priced for being so close. This is what we were looking for.
We were in town moving our son into his living quarters for the upcoming school year at Texas Tech. We needed a nice hotel convenient to the university and this one fit the bill. We were drawn to this hotel because of the location and the breakfast buffet, in addition to the made to order egg and waffle station. The buffet was nice, however I was disappointed with the made to order egg station because I assumed there would be an option of egg whites or at the very least, egg beaters for those people who need another option because of dietary reasons. I have very strict dietary restrictions, so I was left to have Rice Krispies, cantaloupe, and a few potatoes. My family did enjoy breakfast every morning. The beds were comfy and roomy for a family traveling with 2 teenagers.

The hotel was very nice with great amenities. The staff was very courteous although they didn't have enough in the dining areas.

Close to campus but needs major update.

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel needs to be updated and CLEANED!
I have stayed at the MCM many times but this last visit was the worst. It's always been "ok enough" due to it's location, price point and availability but I will not choose to stay there again. It was filthy. I even asked the front desk to make certain that our room was clean for when we returned after move-in Day 2 and my request was not accommodated. I hate to be all negative... The beds are comfy (if your not over thinking how clean the linens are while laying there) and the Staff is pleasant. Lubbock can be difficult to find accommodations during special events at Tech so if your options are limited this hotel is better than the Red Roof or Koko but if booking at the MCM be sure to set your expectations at a 2 or 2.5 star level.

Desperate need of renovation

Posted Aug 12, 2015
The entire hotel had a 'need for renovation' feel to it. It started with grimy floors in the elevators. I was particularly disappointed with the hotel room - especially for that price. It felt and looked filthy. The carpet was gross with stains and dust all along the edges. In the bathroom, the bathtub was painted/peeling and also some of the wallpaper was peeling. If I wouldn't have been so tired with little time for sleep, I would have changed the hotel. The bed mattress was decent enough - though the myriad of pillows were all fairly brick like... definitely won't be staying here again.

Hotel and room were nice...bathroom in room was nasty! Pubic hairs all over floor and toilet and tub were dirty! We were only there 1 night and none of us had a shower because it was nasty!
