beach is good

Location: small island which made it good to travel around
over all good food was good not readily available at times some staff ok others need work on service Romain hard working guy at beach bar area i think they have it rated 3.3 and thats agreeable water sports equipment very good cleanliness of beach area very good lots of room on beach

Hotel was ok but the staff was amazing.

Location: Lucaya was great!
We have stayed at 5 star resorts and this by far was the most amazing family vaca ever. The resort itself was just ok, food was just ok, but the staff made our stay incredible. They treated us as family. From the housekeeping staff, front desk staff, excursion and spa booking staff, and especially the animation staff. From the moment we arrived, one of the animation staff sat and had lunch w/ us. We had a great connection w/ her and she helped guide us as to what to do during our stay. We met all the animators and by the end of the trip they all knew our names. Denny was our lifeguard and I would have loved to take her home w/ us. We bonded so much w/ everyone and that made the stay just wonderful. The shows at night were outstanding. There were so many activities the staff did throughout the day. Amaurys and Keila in the sport house are beyond amazing! It was so hard to leave and will for sure come back!!!!!

Pros: The beach and the staff

The beach is wonderful... but not anought umbrella. Very noisy because all the time animation around the pool, too much... food is a 2/5

The meal were terrible, almost all meals very hot, non variety and the deseers very bad. Only the fruit Good. Nice entertainment.

I have mixed reviews about Viva Wyndham Bahamas

Pros: I liked the lay out . The resort is laid out so you don't have to get wet if it rains, pretty much wherever you want to go.
Cons: It could be cleaner. The food at the all inclusive needs to be improved.
Location: There are numerous excursions. The only shopping there is Port Lucaya. There is a lot of very nice shopping there and very good restaurants.
I thought the food in the all inclusive was terrible. The Three restaurants they have are very good. I thought overall it could be a bit cleaner. I didn't find the staff to be very friendly. Even though there was 'no smoking" in the indoor lounge area the cigarette smoke from outside lounge area infiltrated the indoor lounge. The pool and beach were nice. It was very pleasing to the eye. On our last day we did see 2 roaches in our room. (not the outdoor kind). That was very upsetting. I did stay at this resort about 10 years ago. I never saw a bug. I have mixed reviews about this place. It has the potential to be much better than it is.

Nice beach hotel with serious flaws

Pros: The closeness to the beach. The fun activities. It was clean and safe, too.
Cons: Staff should be trained to not tell a tired senior with back pain, "you will check in at 3, just like everyone else." That was customer service.
Location: The place is isolated mostly but we hardly felt the need to go out.
It is sad to see the serious but avoidable flaws this hotel has, considering it is close to nice piece of beach and its staff is mostly dedicated and cheerful. To begin with, guests are forced to wait a long time, sometimes as much as two or three hours, to gain access to their rooms. Considering a number of them are seniors and even handicapped persons, this is a hardship they will probably not forget when deciding whether to come again. A times more than a dozen of arriving guests are seen sitting in the lobby around their luggage, waiting to be allowed in -bored, tired, frustrated. Not a sweet sight. This would be easily avoidable, by simply lowering the check in time to 2 pm, which is the hour that most hotels have, or by organizing the guests for a tour around the place led by some of the hotel entertainers, so the wait would become a fun time at least. Also, the room cleaning staff is one of the most devoted I have seen, but they lack resources. The hotel maid in our area, in room 3215, worked hard to keep our room clean, but she even had to take the towels and have them washed in order to change them because she didn't have enough towels available. I don't remember her name but this hotel is blessed to have her working there. Entertainment is good, but guests would probably appreciate some local Bahamian music and not only the international presentations offered now. Before I left, I asked the reception to call us at 7 am. They said they would, and never did.

Good beachfront location

Good beachfront location. Rooms just ok. Really need some updating to the rooms..new bedspreads etc. Food in buffet was good but a little repetitive when there for 7 days. Specialty restaurant just ok. Nightly shows were cute..entertainment staff truly work hard. Was disappointed when we got there ...had requested 2 queen beds as I was with my best friend. When we opened door it was 1 King bed so had to go through the hassle of changing rooms.

False advertisement

The room has terrible lighting. Toilets hard to flush. Towels have to be asked for every day. Front desk and guest services have to almost be forced to make them help. Same food is served ever day. If you want to go any where our side of the compound it is $30 round trip or $50 round trip over 10miles. There is nothing to do on this island if you decide not to do anything in the water.

Great place to stay.

Very nice and clean place to stay. Hotel staff friendly. Great view from room. Nightly shows well planned and nice. Food was better this year than last. More choices. Overall great vacation.
