Perfect Vacation on the Lake
This house was exactly right for our family of 5 (3 teens). We rented the pontoon, which made for an unforgettably fun day! The house was clean and cozy. All the kitchen utensils/appliances we needed for our meals were provided. We enjoyed a BBQ, s'mores, a roaring fire, stargazing by the water, and slept comfortably. After checkout we spent a beautiful day hiking and fishing at the State Park. We hope to make this house an annual family tradition!

Clean & Cozy
The Oak cottage was extremely clean and welcoming. The whole place seemed like new and we felt very comfortable. Linda was easy to work with for reservations, checking-in, pontoon rental etc. Grace Landing Cottages are a great location on Indian Pete Bayou; you're out of the way of most of the wind Hamlin Lake can throw at you which means calmer water to dock your boat etc. There are actually 3 fire pits on the property. 1 is in front of Oak which makes it feel like your own private pit, another is right nearby and another is behind Oak, right next to Birch (I think). So plenty of space for your fires. Speaking of space, we had 3 people: me, my wife and her father. He had the bedroom to himself while my wife and I used the full sofa pull out once and the rest of the time she just slept on the sofa while I slept on the little single sofa sleeper. Neither of the beds are comfortable, but most sleeper sofas aren't. Bathroom and shower were very nice and there are plenty of outlets in the cottage for anything you'd want to plug in. We don't need much at all when we go on vacation, we are very simple people but there are a couple things that could use improvement or you should be prepared to bring with you. 1. Frying pans. There were 2 small (8" and 6" maybe?) nonstick pans but they are worn and nothing about them are nonstick really. They could use updates and probably an additional 10" or 12" one. 2. Can opener - it's useless. You have to squeeze the handle to puncture the lid all the way around, needs a new one or bring your own. 3. Spatula(s): I believe there was only one, another one would be nice (very minor though). 4. Hooks to hang bath towels. The only door hooks were on the bedroom door which isn't very convenient when showering or when drying out clothes from the rain. Again, these are minor inconveniences, nothing that would prevent us from staying. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and a few people told us they had wished they were in Oak because of it's seclusion, proximity to the water and having it's own "private" fire pit. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

5/5 Excellent

We spent a long weekend in the Oak cottage and it was breathtaking! We literally spent our entire time sitting on the deck enjoying the view. My dog absolutely loved being outside the entire day! He slept like a rock every night. I may be biased but I think we picked the best cottage! Thank you for such great set up. The only thing I would change is nightstands (small ones) on either side of the bed. The cottage itself was super cute. I could very happily live there! Thanks for such a great time! We will be back. Very nice small cottage
Everything we needed and wanted was there. Nice rooms, cut grass, boat dock, bonfire, and more all included which is what we wanted. We enjoyed our stay and we were very comfortable.

Social distancing vacation
We had a great time. Cabin was very nicely decorated, nice and cool and furnished well. This is our first summer having a boat and this was a beautiful place to go. Having a dock right outside our door was such a treat. Communication with management was great. We grilled and had s’mores in our fire pit every night. Our kids and grandchildren stayed right up the hill in The Birch which was very nice also. Would for sure stay again.
