Confusion at front desk re replaced MasterCard being different from one use for booking. Who to pay?
Upon arriving in room we looked at the carpet and noticed a hair clump, other hair and lint from a previous guest.
We requested that someone vacuum and a front desk staff member came straight away with a vacuum cleaner that did not have a carpet attachment--only one for furniture. She did her best with this and blamed summer help for the standard of cleanliness of the carpet and also the bathroom baseboards which were noticeably in need of cleaning.
Coffee maker was mismatched (wrong pot for machine) so leaked. Front desk quickly brought up a new one. Closet door handle falling off; no plug in bathroom sink; new looking, spotless linens; comfy bed; refrigerator,cups and glasses clean.
The waitress at the bar was unaware of the kayak launch close to the building and charged someone else's tab to our bill but was happy to correct the mistake. Service was quick and pleasant. The food at the hotel restaurant/pub was excellent. All hotel personnel very friendly and welcoming.
More confusion upon check out re the card, deposit and payment. Different employee at desk--no note on file re first experience. Again, very personable front desk personnel.
