Beautiful old Victorian home, but several items in the room were in disrepair.

Elegant historic InnPosted Sep 2, 2015
Location: It is right by the harbour and a short walk to the Bluenose II and all the other tours. Lunenburg is gorgeous, even in the fog.
We had two different rooms at the historic Inn. We were only there overnight but enjoyed it immensely. The old building has lots of character but still has modern facilities in each room. It was a great experience for our kids, to be in a lovely historical building and experience something a little different from your usual hotel. The manager was very friendly and helpful for the few hours we were there. Even though breakfast is not included, we were provided with a few grapes, muffins and other breakfast items in our rooms.

quiet location, min walk to boats and shopsPosted Aug 10, 2015
Stayed in Carriage house, lovely room with large bathroom with Jaccuzi tub. Main inn great location just out of main town so no worries re parking in busy town. Only minutes to walk to shops, boats and restaurants.

We only stayed one night. The inn was very nice and the young lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. The history of the inn was most interesting. The location relative to center of town activity was perfect for us.

Lovely period place to stay...great locationPosted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: Location and atmosphere
Cons: Mention extra person charges on expedia website like other facilities do...didnt care for that surprise
Location: Near the ocean only short walk away ...bluenose ship there, carriage rides through town great for hearing about history of town +ocean activities
Nice staying in period ..late 1800s home mainly kept true to period ...does gave modern plumbing, good welcome on arrival...

We would return to the Blue Nose Lodge in a minute and have already recommended it to friends. So convenient to have a good restaurant under the same roof. The lodge is close enough to the center that we walked everywhere. It's quintessential Victorian without being overly done.We loved our stay there.

Walking distance to downtown LunenburgPosted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: The location, character, cleanliness and staff.
Cons: It is a Victorian 3 story walk-up (no elevator) so make sure you request a lower floor if you have problems with stairs.
Location: The Bluenose was in port, many local galleries and artists, beautiful hilly town on the harbour, many good restaurants.
The Bluenose Lodge was very easy to find and was in walking distance to downtown Lunenburg. It is in a Victorian building so was very quaint with sitting rooms on each floor which we used for a very comfortable reading space. The rooms were clean, the staff very welcoming and helpful.
