A little tired

The checkin staff try their best - but overall the hotel is very rundown and feels tired. The rooms are comfortable, but the bathroom and kitchen area have dirty tiles and broken tap fittings etc. Still again, the rooms are comfortable. Its an ideal location for walking around looking in stores, its also very easy to jump on the subway and get around, but taxi 's don't stop here and the staff are not so helpful in helping you grab a cab. The breakfast area is the most disappointing. The food is very limited and the restaurant closes at 10am sharp. I even had plates removed from my table as I was still eating. The staff are desperate to get the area clean by 10.00am for lunch time patrons. The internet is painfully slow.

Everything was great with the exception of Wi-Fi. Can't connect with my mobile phone to hotel Wi-Fi. Laptop connection was fine. Hotel need updates with their Wi-Fi system. It's slow and outdated.

Excellent alternative to hotels

The Ascott is far better than the majority of shanghai hotels. It has an excellent location and the apartment rooms are very well equipped. Staff are keen to help although their English can be a little limited. Another member of staff on the front desk would be good idea during the day. Otherwise no complaints and extremely good value.

Terrible

Very terrible hotel! everywhere not clean, dust , have some dry vomit on the chair, toilet have insect & fly....it's so disgusting hotel! Bedsheet is not clean, it makes my baby got skin allergic I won't consider to stay this hotel, very poor experience!

prime location, poor service from restaurant

My 1st time stayed at Ascott serviced apartment Shanghai. Overall, the location is so prime that it took me less than 5 min walking to the shopping arcades and restaurants. The staff 're friendly and willing to help. The only complaint that I need to remind everyone who is 1st time customer, apart from the breakfast, the only restaurant on 6th floor is always full (despite there is zero customer) in it, the lady whose attitude is rather arrogant and not keen to help, will always ask you, have you booked? If not, it is mission impossible to get a table there. This is a big concern to me as one of the reasons if not most important to choose a serviced apartment instead of hotel gotta do with the way they make you feel more like home by providing the kitchen, washing machine and friendly restaurant. Unfortunately the latter one is not available and this needs to be improved.

Front desk staff very slow & with attitude

We book 2 rooms, same price . One room was ok, but the other room was old and smells bad.......very disappointed

Did not sleep well.... Breakfast very not OK!

I don't know if it is the problems of hotels.com or Ascott....it seems Ascott did not get the requirement of non-smoking room and 2 single bed required .... So there was a long waiting and a mess during checking in ...And Ascott providing summer quilt in winter day ,so very cold in the room. If turn on the A/C (heater), the wind blow directly on my head...I had a bad sleep there .
