Worth every penny

Pros: The food was delicious. Kind staff. Very clean. Felt very posh for the price.
Cons: Could have a kettle in the room as there was only a coffee machine.
Location: The town center is an easy 10 min walk away and airport is 15 mins by the bus.
This hotel is on the bus route to and from the airport on 2 euro each way and on saturdays it is free. As you arrive in the grand hotel reception gloriously decorated at the time for the festive season, the staff greet you in your language. Nothing is oo much trouble for the staff and the room service was quick, excellent and 24 hour. The room was spottless and contained everything you could possibily need. Also it was a very warm room and the free gifts were lovely and expensive.

Nice hotel

Pros: Views at breakfast, welcome of the staff
We stayed here for a Christmas Market visit. We were very happy, and had a comfortable stay. We booked breakfast and even though it was expensive if you book it in advance you can get a slightly better deal. The view from breakfast was amazing. The room was nice, big bed, fair size. Only slight negative about the room is that there was a shower in the actual bedroom. I was staying with my husband so it wasn't an issue for us but if I was with a friend.... The staff were very helpful. We got a bus from the airport with was easy but the bus doesn't say the stops. Keep an eye out on the left hand side and you will see the hotel. A local helped us otherwise we would have went past it!! To get to the town is a 15 min walk. It was lovely but a bit of a walk if you have mobility issues and there didn't seem to be a bus that went into town- I could be wrong. The city is very beautiful. Not sure you would need longer than a weekend but would recommend. We really enjoyed our stay and would return to the hotel if we ever returned to Luxembourg.

Top quality all round

Brilliant stay at Sofitel. Staff went above and beyond. Room was luxury and perfect location. Only a short 10min walk and you are in the heart of the city. Couldn't knock the hotel in any way. 10/10

The hotel was amazing!!

Pros: The room was wonderful!! Above expectations. It was "different" from any other hotel room I've ever been in. The bed was the best part.
Cons: I wish there was a spa. That was the only thing this hotel was missing.
Location: The location is perfect for walking to the City Centre where there is alot to do.

Great hotel, over-charging may be systematic

Pros: Sky bar is great and worth a visit. The bedroom was also top quality
Cons: Over-charging left, right and centre...
Location: Walk around Luxembourg - a surprisingly nice city.
This is a good quality hotel in almost every respect. However, there were too many incidents where we were overcharged for food in the restaurant and disturbingly when we checked out is there were other guests saying the same thing as us.

Excellent Stay. Lovely hotel with welcoming staff!

The room was superb, really taken aback with the modernity and cleanliness. The staff were great, as we arrived late, we had to wait a small time to check in. Because of the short wait, we were gifted with a complimentary drink in the hotel bar. Our first night was spent with some lovely local booze and a splendid view of The Old Town. Very romantic.

Pros: Good location with excellent facilities
Interesting city seeped in history. Art galleries were elegant and modern housing many masterpieces. Great to walk around the old walled city.

Great place to stay!

Location: Walking distance to excellent restaurants and museums, etc.
Beautiful hotel with spectacular views from restaurant and bar. About a 10 - 15 walk from city center and elevator to the Grund neighborhood. Staff was amazing in their attentiveness. Always ready with information and suggestions. Even tried to track down some lost glasses for us. Room was unique in design and VERY comfortable. Best hotel shower ever! Chose this hotel based on Expedia ratings and price. Great decision!
