“We had a long weekend of 3 nights in a junior suite. Our room was of a good size but the sofa was beyond its sell by date. It had lost its sprung seating & was extremely low. Having spoken to Stephen the G Manager who assured us new units were on order. We had already asked our cleaner who sorted some large square cushions to raise the seats. We went to a tribute evening with meal as well as the Sunday Carvery that was excellent too. Our suite had a sea view as the hotel is on the promenade.……

“This is an interesting old pub/hotel renovated to a high standard. The rooms were well appointed and the breakfast was superb.”

“The only issue we had was that our room was on the highest floor and we had to carry our bags!”

“The room itself (superior room, 2 twin beds, non-smoking) was perfectly adequate, spacious, clean and comfortable (beds), good shower. Would have been perfect had it had a fridge to keep our drinks cool (particularly with the UK heatwaves we have currently) and maybe a few wine glasses would have been useful. However, when we checked in the man on reception was extremely unhelpful and dismissive, gave us no instructions at all regarding breakfast etc. so it was somewhat disappointing on first……

“It's handy for some local shops. The room we were given was equipped with a kind of kitchenette including microwave and fridge which would be useful for a stay of a few days. I prefer to stay somewhere which serves breakfast, but we got breakfast at the light railway station opposite.”

“There is no lift. There is no food available at weekends. The lounge was comfortable.”

“The room was clean and decent size. We had a good night’s sleep.”

“Basic hotel, needs updating. outside sitting area not very inviting location, excellent.”

“Very good stay in a lovely pub and hotel. Diner was very good, most of all the starters. Breakfast was okay, could have been better with fresh pastries for example and options for cappuccino or latte. Room was very spacious and well decorated. The only down side was that it was a bath only with no curtains and therefore water ended up everywhere. Nice and helpful staff”

“See view for room, but breakfast maybe need more different types of food provided egg or pancakes. The staff is nice. ”
