Lovely few nights spent at Hôtel Victoria. Fairly walkable to the city’s attractions and restaurants. The room and bathroom were quite small, but reasonable for the price. Very kind and friendly staff, who were always extremely helpful and willing to chat.

The hotel is very old and has narrow hallways. The fire exit nearest my room, indicated as an exit on a map in my room, had no door handle and was blocked by a fire extinguisher mounted to the wall in front of the door. The other exit stairway didn’t go outside, but to the front desk downstairs. The window opened to an inner area that would be like a courtyard except that there was a roof at the ground floor level- it was a light tunnel in effect. I think this is typical of older buildings but I didn’t like that it felt like a fire trap. The bathrooms are tiny- about the size of a small shower with a toilet and tiny sink inside it. The afternoon receptionist was very kind and professional. The manager was not concerned that I had raised concerns with Expedia and he argued against them. I wasn’t able to cancel the reservation to get my money back.

Hello,We want to thank you for your review.Emergency exit doors must not be equipped with handles or locks. They simply open by pushing from the inside and are never locked or blocked.Indeed, our emergency exit doors are the large exterior doors located next to reception and which open directly onto the street. Our hotel complies with all current safety standards and is regularly checked and validated by the Lyon town hall safety commission.
The receptionist was really friendly and she even called my room to tell me I forgot my mobile.
There was a dirty blouse left in the room by the previous guest, which was not picked by the cleaning personnel.
I would have loved to have Air conditioning, but that was not provided, I should have checked the details more carefully.
great property. Near to all the transport links. Staff very friendly. Room and bathroom very small, bur clean. Cleaners did not lock door after cleaning. This was a concern due to there not being a safe in the room. A very nice 2 star hotel
Very quiet and comfortable hotel.
The staff was very helpful and flexible. Omn checkin day I was working remotely from my bedroom ( desk and light are great), then I spend great time with my friends. The bar and breakfast are very convenient too.
Great stay, I definetely recommend it, especially if you are on transit via Lyon Perrache
Room looked exactly like the one in the picture, the clock is just wallpaper though! Room is quite small but comfortable and clean. Shower fairly tiny, and only one tiny soap for three days was a bit disappointing - though at least housekeeping came every day, which a lot of hotels don't do any more. Location a stone's throw from Perrache station which is one stop from TGV's Part-Deux on the SNCF or about 12 stops with a change on the metro. Breakfast was decent enough for €10. Would stay again.

Good commuter hotel
8.0 is about the correct score. I had a single room with the tiniest shower that was literally over the toilet, and the room in general really was quite small. However, it was clean, the hot water was hot, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast didn't look like it had enough fruit and vegetable options, so I did not partake.

Thank you very much Chava for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your tay at Hôtel Victoria and really hope to have the pleasure to welcoming you again. All our best wishes for this new Year.Best regards
Nice staff, but small elevator, the shower is tiny and industrialized. Had a smell in the room and a dent in the floor.
Invest more and go to a nicer hotel.
Breakfast selection small.
The room is wonderful. The area is close to a train station. Even though it is super convenient in terms of transportation, it is an area around train station. Not the nicest looking area in Lyon and pretty noisy when we open the windows
Reception staff was very friendly and helpful, great location and reasonable price. I traveled on my own and the room was perfect for my needs. I would stay there again.
Spent a day in Lyon and decided to stay near the bus terminal, since this is how I was traveling through the city. The hotel is ideally located for this. It’s very comfortable, the staff spoke English (my French leaves a lot to be desired) and easily walkable to Lyon center. I was upgraded for free on my arrival as well! The room was a bit tight and the bathroom very small but for one person spending one night it was perfect. I’d definitely stay here again.
First off, let me say that I enjoyed my five day stay at the Victoria and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for budget accommodation in Lyon. I visited at the height of summer however and during a heat wave so that the absence of aircon was a significant issue. The bathroom was small but manageable, the bed comfortable and the place was clean and tidy. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. Air conditioning is on its way, I understand. Check the weather forecast before booking or check to see if the aircon has been installed is my suggestion. Otherwise, the Victoria gets the thumbs up.
We had a pleasant stay here. While the room was tiny, and the bathroom even smaller, the bed was very comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. We struggled to find the hotel after arriving via tram (google maps and similar were all useless - took us the very long way there!) - I suggest you phone the hotel for simple instructions!! The hotel is really only a 2 minute walk from the train/tram station!!!
The hotel is very handy to public transport and walking distance to the main shipping area also. A good selection of restaurants nearby also. We would stay again.
Excellent value. Small but clean. Quiet. Conveniently located. We had nice room with great view on 6 floor. Breakfast also good valu. In all, a delightful experience.

next to bus station
the main complaint is the size of the room/bathroom, which is very small. Other than that, I find the price reasonable and the location excellent. Wifi worked well, and staff was friendly.
Location good, cosy and clean room. The staff at reception and atmosphere very nice.Especially Lucy, she was very friendly, supportive and made me feel very welcomed. Thanks Lucy.
