It was good overall but definitely not 4 star level. The room itself was new and modern but the hotel was narrow and the only restaurant was undergoing innovation so that didn’t help give the hotel a better image. Staff were nice and friendly.

Good choice near Part Dieu train station
Just a two night stay to visit friends in Lyon. Easy to get to on the Tram out of Part Dieu train station. Area was good since there was a McDonalds and a grocery store to buy wine. Front desk people were pleasant. There was an on premise restaurant/bar but not open for lunch or dinner.

Liked: Very close to a bus stop and also to a metro. Small shops in the vicinity (open until quite late at night) are very convenient. Staff were very friendly and accommodating Could be improved: Iron and ironing board not standard in the rooms (One can ask for it, but then it later gets taken to other rooms, and one has to re-ask). For a four-star hotel, I would have expected this to be standard. Staff member directed me to the wrong bus stop. Perhaps it was just a misunderstanding, but he did see it on my map, and did say the correct bus, but sent me to the wrong bus stop.

We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the downtown and old town area by public transport; and because it has an underground parking. The hotel is a bit dated but nice.

Great little find in Lyon...
Staff extra friendly, location perfect close to all public transport. The rooms are spacious, modern and have air conditioning, perfect through a heat wave. The only thing that would bring this to 10/10 is the restaurant / bar was not open on the weekend so we had to go out in the rain to get something to eat. Otherwise, would definitely go back here if visiting Lyon again.

The staff was kind. The location was near attraction (the park!) but not in the heart of touristy Lyon, perfect for my travels! Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were spacious and clean. Thanks!

No kettles in the room to warm my baby sister’s milk bottle! We asked for it, and the staff said they can only give us a cup of hot water for $5 room service charge! There are 3 pools in the hotel only 1 was open on our stay and the pool with 10ft was closed!! So everyone in the hotel are forced to use a regular size 3ft pool. Never staying here again.

The high price of the hotel’s room does not reflect the expected quality. The room’s interior, furniture and bathroom are old and would required to be improved or alternatively lower the number of hotel’s stars and price.

Very nice facilities and location is fantastic. Good size room and bathroom, reception was very helpful. Breakfast had alot of options. Bar was not always open and room needed some slight redecoration fixes.

Good stay. Staff did not always understand English, so made it difficult to ask for information. Poor service at the bar, in fact couldn’t buy a drink as nobody to serve. Very noisy at night. Rooms lovely and clean. Central for getting around.

Lyon for the Euro's
Stayed one night recently here as part of Euro 2016 football visit. I have stayed in other Mercure's in Lyon and this was well up to standard. The staff were friendly and attentive and embraced having a hotel full of football fans ( mostly NI) I had an enjoyable stay and would happily return

Mercure Charpennes is the best located of the Mercure Lyon hotels for my business purposes and as usual was very welcoming and the service was pleasant. The only slight problem was the usual problem of hotels in Lyon that the rooms are so hot and without air conditioning during April.

The location was nice and central. It was close to public transportation and not too far on foot to shopping and restaurants. The only downside was that we drove there and navigating to the hotel by car was a little bit of a challenge. The hotel has parking for a charge, so go into the front desk and ask for directions to the parking. It's nearly impossible to find street parking in the area.

The location is great, just a few steps from the metro, lots of little restaurants around, a great park within 5 minutes and its located in a nice neighborhood. For French standards this was a good hotel, not very big, not very clan but good enough for France in a 3 star.
