Failed hotel management

When we arrived we were told that the hotel was overbooked and we could not access the room that we had booked and paid for in advance. The person on the phone - there is no lobby, and no person present, so don't expect a 'hotel' in any conventional sense - then arranged for a booking at another hotel 500m or so away. A waste of our time and energy, but did not spoil a pleasant weekend in Lyon.

Like living like a local.

Nice "mini apartment" - felt much more like living local than staying in a traditional hotel. I was met at the outer door, welcomed warmly, shown how everything works (note, you need to push buttons to get in AND out), and left to it. Room was clean and well lit, tastefully modernized without giving up the authentic French feel. Bed was comfy, there was a very convenient table and chair set, a large, antique looking work desk, sofa, wardrobe, chest containing microwave, water kettle, refrigerator, and coffee maker, cups, wine glasses... Air was easy to control via radiator heat, AC, and windows overlooking a great view of Lyon rooftops. WiFi was faster than most hotels, and if you need anything (power adapters, toiletries, etc.) you're around the corner from all of it. Printemps, fnac, a pharmacy, and tons of food. (Hint: find the Starbucks, and go to the place to the left instead. Fresh croissants, crépes made while you watch, and really good coffee - at very reasonable prices. Like under 5 Euro.) I was in Lyon for a trade show, and the apartment management and cleaners were very accomodating in regard to my luggage on the last day. I really love Lyon, and the people are more than 50% of why. I'll be back, hopefully with more time to explore this truly French city.

Convenient Apt in Lyon

Second time staying at Arts Hotel. We find it a great location to restaurants and shopping. Top floor apartment has all you need for a city break. Alex is a lovely guy and explains everything well. Building is lovely. Some amazing restaurants in Lyon within 5 mins walk. Shops same distance.

Make sure you have a mobile phone and earplugs

Make sure you have a mobile phone with you when you stay at this hotel. They only come to let you in to the apartment when you call them. I had prearranged to meet staff at the hotel, but no-one turned up to let me in. After a 30 hr flight, my phone was dead, so a kind adjacent shop allowed me to use their phone. Not a good start. Next, a small baby was in the room next door. There is no sound proofing between the rooms, so when the baby woke at night at 2am and 5am screaming, it was like they were in the same room. Even earplugs couldn't entirely drown out the sound.

Loftsuite

Pros: Super goede ligging. Hele mooie suite voor 2 personen in een mooi oud gebouw.
Cons: Deze suite voor maximaal 2 personen aanbieden!
Leuke loftsuite voor 2 personen. Wij waren echter met 4 vriendinnen en het was schrikken toen we zagen dat het "tweede grote bed" een slaapbank bleek te zijn. Dat stond niet bij de beschrijving. De suite werd daardoor wel erg klein. Ook het feit dat er maar een badkamer is en geen apart toilet, is voor 4 personen niet aangenaam. Kennelijk is deze loft normaal voor maximaal 3 personen want we hadden van alles maar 3 stuks. Heel vreemd want de kamer werd op het moment dat we aankwamen schoongemaakt, en hoewel de dames zagen dat we met 4 personen waren bleek bij terugkomst 's avonds dat we van alles maar 3 stuks hadden, we hadden zelfs maar 3 hoofdkussens. Er was ook een Nespresso apparaat maar geen kopjes. Helaas was de lift om de haverklap kapot en moesten we steeds 5 etages trappen lopen. De ligging is super en dat maakte veel goed. Ook het feit dat we zondags van Alex onze bagage mochten laten staan en de sleutel mochten houden tot 15.00 uur was heel erg fijn.

Quand nous sommes arrives il n'y avait personne. Nous avons du attendre jusqu'à 18h30 pour pouvoir entrer parce que le mail de reservation de Hotel.com était arrive dans la boïte de spam..

Superbement bien placé, propre, moderne

Parfait emplacement Tres chouette apart hotel en plein paris , a 2 pas de l'opera et de la place Vendome Juste Un peu compliqué l'accès lors d'une arrivée Apres 22:00.
