Outstanding Hotel
The hotel was excellent Staff are friendly and very helpful. Room was clean comfortable and well appointed. The food in Safer restaurant and the breakfast were excellent and the staff outstanding. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We would definitely go back!

pleasant stay
Nice location, clean and well-maintained room. I am not sure breakfast is worth the cost, as it is not a buffet and you might find better options right on the square the hotel is facing

Location was amazing, straight on the main square, property historic, lovely large bedroom/apartment with air conditioning, fully functioning kitchen and drinks in the fridge to purchase. Wonderful. Didn't have time to try the spa. Staircase to the bedroom quite steep, but as its an historic property, it is understandable. There is also a lift.

Nice new place but a few necessities lacking
Lovely place, but we splurged on the deluxe suite which happened to be on the ground floor in the front of the building. It is like an old apartment building so we heard everyone coming in and out, as well as the staff delivering breakfast to other rooms. They could do with a runner carpet on the steps and hallway to help with the noise. The breakfast was amazing though! We did use the sauna and pool and there were no toiletries available in the shower/changing area. Shampoo/ body wash would be nice as well as bags for wet bathing suits. Otherwise, lovely facilities.

Great, cozy boutique hotel on main square but our room, even though facing the square, was quiet. Good AC, great location, help at main desk is excellent. Only downside was they were repairing elevator in our part of building during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Business Trip to Maastricht
Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city. Walking distance to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. Internet was excellent, which was great for a business trip. You can hear other guests walking above you, but not an issue unless they are upnlate at night. Also, thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the room.

great location in the center
The location is great in the center of Maastricht. The staff was great. The downsides are that we were on the second floor and we had a lot of stairs to climb (there is no elevator) and that there is no staff available after 6 pm (about this we knew before). another bizzare thing was that the shandeleer in the bathroom fell down and there were glass all over. we have to say that the bathroom was bigger than the room

I couldnt have picked a better place in Maastricht. Right next to the cathedral and on the main square with all the restaurants and shops. friendly service was so nice. the breakfast is a must! beautiful setting. i recommend having it in the dining room as you watch the sun come up over the cobblestones and buildings. i will stay here again and again. eat at La Boveda for authentic Spanish food and order the broiled shrimp. the leftover sauce is great for dipping bread. excellent red sangria.

Everything was great. Highly recommend in-room breakfast, which was large and wonderful. Location was perfect, except someone was building a stage in the square, which was loud and blocked view. Service was exceptional.

What a wonderful find!
Haas op het Vrijthof bills itself as a luxury guest house, which to me suggests snootiness. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We received a warm welcome and quick access to a large, modern room in a venerable building. The decor, bed and breakfast were all outstanding. If only all the hotels on our trip were as great.

Absolutely perfect everything!
The hotel is delightful, the staff excellent, the location perfect (especially if you are an Andre Rieu fan and are fortunate enough to be there when he is scheduled to perform), and the city amazing. We had planned to arrive before 6:00 p.m., but our GPS had a mind of it's own; thus we were late from Amsterdam. However, Catharina stayed late, called to check on us, and when we told her we were lost trying to find the hotel, she stood on the sidewalk in front to show us the way. She helped us unload, carry bags to our room, whisked away the car to park it so we wouldn't get further lost, and asked how we wanted breakfast in the morning. Amazing service! Our breakfast arrived at our room on a cart. The clerk pulled a table away the wall, spread out a white tablecloth, arranged our place settings nearly, and then set out a large glass-dome covered plate with assorted buns and croissants (8 total), a glass platter of thin sliced cheeses and meats, a bowl of yogurt, a bowl of muesli, a pitcher of cream, a pitcher of fresh orange juice, a dish of fresh fruit, and butter and jam. A fantastic way to start our day. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We can't wait to get back home and start saving for a return trip! Around the hotel are plenty of restaurants, tons of cute shops, surprising discoveries (an ancient wall, a waterwheel, and more), and winding narrow streets. Maastricht is very scenic and lovely, the hotel charming, and the people helpful. Stay!

Sensational, perfect location with outstanding man
We were extremely pleased with our room in this small boutique hotel. Roomy, quiet, comfortable, and very nicely furnished. The bed was excellent and the breakfast served on our private patio was of perfect proportions to start our day. There really isn't a negative thing to report, great shower, great bed, and a superb location to explore Maastricht by foot. There are stairs to climb but an elevator if needed. The ownership and staff displayed great pride in their city and were extremely accommodating. They embarrassed us with their great English and willingness to help. One of our top five hotel experiences and we have had many! My strongest recommendation.

Great position to tour the town.
These apartments are strategically well placed at one of the main squares in the centre of Maastricht. The room was clean and spacious, with a ultra modern retro fit and full kitchen shared with another unit, which we did not use. Parking was provided 8 mins walk away which is important in this town. Highly recommended.

Caveat Emptor- let the buyer beware.
This is a well located and comfortable little guesthouse. We had a suite which was spacious and well appointed BUT when you book this place it is ESSENTIAL you establish what is going on in the Vrijthof (square) outside. Unfortunately while we were there, there was a carnival which operated for an entire week noon till midnight with very loud music and screams from people on the rides. To be honest, it seemed entirely inappropriate for that area but I don't run Maastricht. However it made it impossible to use the main living room of the suite in the afternoons or evenings. This would apply to any accommodation on this square. We were aware that Rieu concerts occurred in this area (though I checked his program to make sure it was not on) but had no idea such a loud and crass event might happen adjacent such beautiful attractions as Basilica of st Servatius or 'Sint-Janskerk, a Gothic church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, the city's main Protestant church since 1632, adjacent to the Basilica of Saint Servatius, with a distinctive red, limestone tower'.

Exquist Maastricht experience!
Great stay - location fantastic, staff ever so friendly, apartment beautifuly furnished and toasting in the cold weather. The apartment overlooks the main square and the evenings are rung in with the gentle bells from the churches. What more could you ask for?

Comfortable room in Very Cute Town
Our only complaint was that when booking we weren't told that check-in time was 1800. We were fortunate that the reservation clerk waited for us and was late to her 1900 meeting.
