Delightful, secluded "pub hotel" in countrysidePosted Jul 31, 2015
Pros: Excellent, friendly staff. Modern hotel room. Charming pub. Peace and seclusion of location.
Location: Location is well outside Macclesfield (~ 2 miles). Not much to do there as such, but excellent for country walks or visit to Gawsworth Hall etc.
I stayed at The Ryles Arms overnight to break up a business drive from Yorkshire to the South Coast. I also managed to fit in an afternoon visit to Gawsworth Hall and an evening concert there. The Ryles Arms is a delightful and secluded country pub, overlooking fields and rolling countryside. Its outbuildings have been converted into a small modern hotel. I stayed in Room 2 (ground floor), which - despite other reviews - definitely had good wi-fi and a clean modern bathroom. The room was quiet, day and night, with no traffic noise or creaky floors. I've had bad experiences at "pub hotels" before, but this hotel is quiet because its rooms are not over the bar. Talking of which, the beer was good. So was the full English breakfast (included with the room). There was also close and ample parking. The staff were magnificent - everyone was cordial, helpful and efficient. So I would definitely recommend the Ryles Arms for anyone wanting a peaceful stopover. Caveat: The hotel is a good 2 miles outside Macclesfield (and about 5 miles from Gawsworth Hall). If you don't have a car, I don't know how you'd get there. On the other hand, it would be an ideal base for a countryside ramble.

very friendly staff. Decent rooms with nice clean bathroom.Comfy beds. Only one tiny issue no vegetarian option for breakfast but they basically gave me everything on the menu that wasn't meat and it was very good.

Nothing to be riled about.Posted May 9, 2015 on Hotels
Just one night's stay. The Ryles Arms was packed with diners when we arrived at 5.0pm. Made very welcome by the young lady who explained the set-up, and who carried our luggage to the Barn Cottage we stayed in. Pub still full when we checked in for our meal at 7.0pm. The menu had a good selection and the food was plentiful and excellent, obviously tilted towards hungry walkers and cyclists rather than we octogenarians. In view of this we asked for small breakfasts, but we till had enough to keep us going for the rest of the day!

Sublime quiet in the middle of the countrysidePosted Mar 26, 2015 on Hotels
We were recommended by friends to this old English pub with accomodation in converted outbuildings in an area of sublime beauty on the outskirts of Macclesfield within easy reach of Manchester. Not only was it quiet and clean but the rooms were a delight overlooking fields with all amenities. The bar was very local with a great range of local brews and , although we ate out for dinner, the Full English breakfast included in a reasonable room price, was superb. The staff were most helpful and friendly. Will defitely return.

Have a quite night, found a spider next to my bed but it was alright. Have a hot bath with nice soapy hot water, clean towels, clean toilet, nice warm comfortable duvet. In the morning got up early and had a lovely fresh made breakfast by a lovely, friendly host. She even help us for our day trip.-:)
