The hotel was beautiful! I went for my cousins wedding as my family is all from Ecuador, and they held their reception at the hotel. The service was fantastic, the rooms were clean and big, the shower has great water pressure, the pool was large and beautiful…everything was fantastic. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed!

My wife and I stayed for a night to celebrate our wedding anniversary in one of the suites. The room was a little dated, but overall our stay was pleasant. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food and service were great.

I like the pool and dining area. I have seen iguanas there before. They relax on top of trees, and are fun to watch. They have a good chef that understands about "pulpo a la gallega".

First time stay
Weather was terrible, roads were flooded and blocked so the family and I stayed here for the night. Facility and general manager are excellent. Had to go to the front desk 6 times bc my key cards would stop working after one use. I purchased two rooms and it happen with both rooms. Also check in was not smooth. She forgot to give me most check in stuff and was not welcoming. She seemed irradiated at our arrival. Would like to stay here again

Under renovation
The room was nice but the hallways and building were under serious renovation. So much so that it was a bit creepy and seemed it would be better to finish before housing guests. Service seemed a bit overwhelmed and less than friendly outside- albeit it was a holiday weekend. Staff at reception were great and apologized for the renovations at least. Would be great once repairs are done.

Terrible hotel
This hotel is the absolute worst of a month long trip that my partner and I have been on. I am a travel agent and quite forgiving for shortcomings with hotels. But having a hotel wide party so loud causing the walls and bed of the room to vibrate until past 2am is unacceptable for me. When I complained about this the hotel let me know that there were no rooms not affected by the noise and basically too bad. The hotel itself is cheap - old and lacks any class whatsoever. I also emailed and requested assistance with a transfer from the airport with no response. I will advise against this hotel at all costs to my clients, friends and enemies.

Best Hotel in Machala leaves a lot to be desired!
Although the physical plant from the exterior was fine, the interior , was a whole other story. Not sure if we were the only guests in the hotel but if there were others there was no way they could have tolerated the awful moldy odor in the corridors and guest room on the first floor! When we returned to the hotel after an evening out the lights were nearly ALL off. Talk about a security risk? It was creepy. Never the less we found our way to our rooms but could not tolerate the awful moldy odor once inside. So at midnight we called the desk and asked to be moved. Our new rooms on the 2nd floor were better but really left a negative impression! What in the world was causing that odor?? Has to be ridden with mold! Sorry Oro Verde...nothing Golden about our visit!
