Good hotel

Terrible wi fi all week good facilities and staff excellent . Decent pool , free shuttle sometimes overfull

Lovely location.

Pros: See above comments
Cons: Beds and cleaning of bathrooms.
Location: Trips to tropical gardens and city.nuns valley, all very interesting, walking. Would not want to stay too much longer unless you wanted to lie about
We spent a very enjoyable week here. Breakfast was all you could have wanted. Service from staff excellent. All very helpful and curtious. Room was good although bed was not very comfortable. Skimped a bit on the cleaning sometimes.

Nick hotel with great views

We have recently returned from our second stay at this hotel and have not been disappointed. The location and views are lovely and the staff are very welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The subtle extras are very appreciated such as the complementary drink on arrival and welcome wine and cake in our room. The indoor spa is lovely but the outdoor pool is quite cold. The promenade at the back of the hotel offers a lovely coastal walk and there are bars and restaurants that offer refreshments. We would definitely return. Mr. T

Lovely hotel and location. The showers and TVs need improving but, other than that, wonderful! Gorgeous buffet breakfast too.

Cons: Decent wine selection in hotel bar!
Comfortable hotel and good location. Good facilities, pool, sauna, etc. Great breakfasts. Range of good restaurants within walking distance. Very helpful staff particularly in arranging tour options and use of local busses.

Short winter sun break in Maderia

Location: Nearby to Funchal
Very pleasant hotel good amenities staff could be a little more friendly although overall enjoyed our short break here

Nice hotel, but not worth 5 starts. Good 4 stars hotel. I would go again. Best things: the view, peaceful location with nearby great promenades with this amazing view, nice pool area and little garden.

christmas 2016. Pestano grand Funchal maderia

Pros: Staff. Comfort. Friendliness. Atmosphere.
Cons: More gym equipment. More toasters rather than queuing at breakfast. Spruce up bedroom carpets. Otherwise very very good hotel. We will return again
Location: Easy walking in both directions. Only 6 euros taxi to Funchal. Funchal approx 3 miles walking .. fishing village approx 3 miles opposite direction.
Very very good hotel approx 3 miles from Funchal & approx 3 miles from fishing village. Easy walking to both. Good hotel will return again
