Nice hotel but get a superior Ocean View roomPosted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: Food was cold, bland and expensive. Go to nearby restaurants
Location: 3km from town centre but is surrounded by amenities. Definitely NOT a kids resort There are NO beaches to speak of on the island, its volcanic rock
Only the full superior rooms have Ocean Views and its worth it. Hotel was clean, friendly and adequate. Food is NOT recommended. Buffet was cool to say the least instead of hot (this applied to breakfast and dinner) and was more expensive than the local restaurants which are far far better and much better ambience and service. Its a standard 4 star hotel which could be anywhere. Its 3 km from the town centre and surrounded by other hotels, a couple of Spar shops and loads of restaurants. The walk to Funchal is flat which is a bonus in a very mountainous island!!

Great hotel for a relaxing vacation.Posted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: Well planned and organized.
Great hotel close to the sea. All the staff were really helpful. The hotel has lots of outside space for relaxing. It is ideally placed for a great range of restaurants and bars. The bus into Funchal stops nearby so its easy to get around.

Great hotelPosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Poolside staff members.... especially Fatima....
Cons: Stopping quests reserving pool side beds with towels.
Apart from those selfish guests who set their alarms to reserve sunbeds by the pool at stupid o'clock, it's a fantastic hotel... really enjoyed it !

The Place to Stay in Madeira!Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: All of it. If I returned to the island for another visit, I would stay at this hotel again. That simple.
Cons: Nothing, no need.
Location: Excellent location. Only a 30 minute walk into Funchal. Local restaurants in abundance. Sea view from all the rooms.
Spent a long weekend at this Hotel with friends. Did not do much research prior to booking but this hotel seemed to fit the criteria I set myself when planning our short breaks. Parking, pool, nice rooms and well located being the priorities. This hotel exceeded expectations. Our days consisted of starting with a good and varied breakfast followed by seeing the costal villages and having a walk and coffee at the top of the highest peak (we hired a car). Another day was spent in Funchal doing cable car, toboggan and 'Blandy's Bodega'. We walked into the capital which was a 30 minute walk from the hotel. Each outing was followed by a return to the hotel by 4pm to enjoy lounging on a sunbed by the pool enjoying the sunshine and a beer! Bliss. We were blessed with two hot sunny days at the end of May, but the third was grey with drizzle when visiting the north of the island but sunny on our return to the hotel.

The best hotel I have been to.Posted May 30, 2015
I'm not one to write reviews but this hotel deserve it. From the first moment I walked in I like the hotels decor, the friendliness and the room was superb. We had the premium suite on the 7th floor which has a amazing ocean view and double balcony, kitchen, living room etc. This really is a 5 star hotel.
