A family holiday home for local accommodation, located in the quiet center of the belfry, next to the church! A two-story country house with herb garden, backyard, balconies equipped with sun loungers and tea table, consisting of common room (flat-screen cable TV and free Wi-Fi), kitchen (electric hob and oven, microwave, refrigerator, kettle, blender, coffee maker and toaster), three bedrooms with sleeping capacity for eight people [Room # 1 with a king size bed, with option for a baby cot included, Room # 2 with a king size bed double and one single bed, Room # 3 with one double and one single) and two bathrooms. Served by bakery, supermarket, restaurant, pharmacy, health center and taxi rank within 100 meters! Public transport from the "Rodoeste" to the north of the island to Arco de São Jorge and to the south side to Funchal. It is 15 minutes from Funchal and 25 minutes from the airport by the motorway. 15 minutes from "Cabo Girão" by the regional road. 25-minute pedestrian access to Calhau da Lapa.

Perfect holiday accommodation .
The property was well equipped , clean and tidy and contained all that we needed. It was just as we had hoped from seeing the photographs. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts who met us at the property and greeted us with a glass of Madeira wine and biscuits. We found the location ideal for visiting all areas of the island using our hire car as we were only a few minutes from the main roads . A bakery opposite selling delicious cakes , bread and coffee and a small grocers added to the convenient location of this property - I would highly recommend.

This property was just as described .and perfect for our requirement
This was our first visit to Madera. We spent a month at the house,December thro January.The weather was perfect .Warm during the day and just a little cool in the evening. The owners were most helpful and anxious to please.Alhough a can is not essential ,if you wish h to see the inner parts of the island, af car is well worth hiring.We shall most certainly return to this most beautiful house.

Wonderful Time
We were warmly greeted with a glass of Madeira wine and a local passion fruit drink for our boy. The host was a very warm and kind lady, who occasionally left us a basket of fruit and made us a lovely cake! The property was easy to find and well located opposite a small supermarket and cafe and close to the main tunnel roads. The home was clean to a high standard and the kitchen was well equipped. We would happily go back to the same place.

A hidden jem!
The villa was exactly as advertised and was immaculate inside and out. Spotlessly clean and everything you could need to be at home. Well laid out and with plenty of room for everyone. In all, everything looked as brand new, and we couldn't find anything to fault. A lovely location looking across the valley and away from the noise and bustle of the tourist areas of Funchal. There are a number of steps down to the property so if you struggle with steps this may not be the place for you We were met on arrival by the owner who is a charming lady, with a welcoming glass of Madeira wine, who showed us around the property and where everything was. There are two restaurants a short distance up the valley which we heartily recommend. To make the most of your visit a car is essential. Driving around the Island is easy and gets you to all the places that organised tours don't touch - very much worth the effort. We would have no hesitation about using the villa again on our next visit to Madeira.

Lovely Home away from Home
This property was as beautiful as the pictures shown. We found the house very well equipped with every convience needed for our month stay. It is situated in a charming and welcoming community with access to groceries and coffee shop directly across the street. Our owners welcomed us on arrival with a toast of Madeira wine and were able to provide us all the information we needed to find our way around. They were very accessible to us during our stay with immediate response to our needs. Maria surprised us several times with baskets of local grown fruits and lettuce form her garden. We loved the location as we were looking for a rural experience and we had rented a car for the duration of our stay. We were happy to discover that most of the tour groups offer a local pick up and the bus stopped in front of our house. The house does not have a central heating system so we did have to adjust to the coolness of the house as we were there in February and March but the beds had lots of comfy blankets available. Thank you ladies for providing us with such a lovely retreat to come home to after our days of exploring Madeira.

The house was as good as its description
The property was clean, modern, well equipped. Although on the main road of the village it was very quiet at night. Great little supermarket across the road and a wonderful bakery / cafe selling the most delicious breads and pastries. Excellent value for money and would recommend it to others however you should hire a car as it is not easy to get around otherwise. But the link onto the main highway is only a minute away and that connects you to the whole island. Funchal only about 25 minutes away and the beaches of Calheta about 20 minute drive

Great Views / Wonderful Owner
Maria's home is well kept, clean, spacious, comfortable, and has nice views. Maria and Isabel gave us a lovely greeting on arrival and were there if we needed anything. We were getting ready to leave for the airport and found that our rental car battery was out of juice. Maria stepped right in and helped us get the rental car company out to start the car and got us to the airport in time. We would not have made it without her and she was so sweet about it. I am so appreciative. The house itself was only about 10 minutes by car away from Funchal and it's a nice place at the end of the day to relax on the upper deck with a view of the water and the beautiful flowers she maintains there. When you decide to call it a night, you have a lovely lit up view of a church on the opposite hill from your bed. A nice convenience is the local store and bakery just across the street. Great value for a lovely home with a fantastic view!
This is a clean, very spacious home , with all the basic cookware and utensils provided in the kitchen for preparing and serving meals . It is convenientky located across from a grocery store. And the view!! It is stunning looking out over the valley from the terrace or living room. Maria was prompt in corresponding and answering questions, friendly and had an English speaking friend meet us to show us around. We vacationed there over Christmas so temperatures were cooler on Maderia that time of year and though we found the house a little cold at times (no heat) as we sat around (the very comfortable roomy plush sofa) in the evenings , we were warm at night in our beds with plenty of blankets provided and lovely soft, flannel sheets. . We noted an A/C in our bedroom so no worries in the summer . The beds were too firm for our American tastes--our only complaint. We felt the house was a very good value for the money!

Schöne Tage in Campanario
Wir hatten wirklich sehr schöne Tage in Capanario und waren auch sehr zufrieden mit dem "Haus der Mutter". Ein Wermutstropfen waren die unbequemen Betten die unserem Schlaf abträglich waren. Sie waren sehr hart und quietschten bei geringer Bewegung. Wahrscheinlich hätte man das auch ändern können denn Maria war sehr zuvorkommend und immer auf das Wohl Ihrer Gäste bedacht.
